I'd prefer to see pictures

This is a good tutorial, where you've explained everything you need concisely and correctly. What I think you need to give us is a few diagrams or screenshots of the program, to show us exactly what you are getting at with the directions.

Then we come to the directions. They are concise, as I've already mentioned. The problem is that the font is a little difficult to read and we could do with putting more breaks in the text, as it strains the eyes. This may be countered by the fact that when people are actually using it, they may only use it for reference as they are making the preloader. This is probably the intention of the flash, but certainly making either the text bigger or chaning the font would be beneficial.

Thanks, your comments have been noted. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Draw us a map.

You've explained about buttons, why we need them and how to make them very well within your flash, but I feel that this really needs some animating expertise, so that you can show the budding flash artist what they need to see, for these things.

I quite enjoy reading, but if I want to read about how to do stuff like that, I'm sure I can find it in the Help application somewhere.

If this was showing the full spectrum of the program, you would be able to show people where the buttons are and keep their attention. I like reading, but I have to say that i skipped past this flashes points, because i couldn't be arsed to read them.

I didn't understand your review much except for the the Help thing. Yes you could probably find it in the help place but those are quite boring to read and are quite hard to understand if you're a beginner.

Close, but no cigar.

I've never been a fan of Memes. Need I say more?

Clearly, the answer is yes, so i feel that you should make a menu to look up each individual Meme, rather than having to scroll through the lot to find the one you are looking for. That would probably simplify the process there.

The music is off. It gets about 2-3 minutes into the track and it just dies. What I'd suggest is that you compress the music file more, or you pick a shorter track to play alongside your submission, which is more simple.

Some of the entries which have images are partially obscured by the writing about them - at the end of the day, you defeat the object of the slideshow by attempting to cram too much information into the slide. Maybe put a larger image of the Meme in and have a scroll-over tab for theinformation about the image in the slide?

You seem to think I can use flash properly.

Interesting little game

This is a well designed and animated piece, with well co-ordinated tasks, traps and other such tomfoolery. I think that what you really need to do is stop the restarting of the music at each new level, that just really gets on my nerves - the loop is fine as it is.

Considering how simple the lead character is, you've made a great game with this and I'd personally love to see a sequel at some point - maybe with new traps, longer puzzle levels and some sort of coinage collection system - classic platform games have them, why not here?

Benspyda responds:

To be honest I have no idea why I didn't add a coin collection aspect. If I make a sequel I'll be sure to incorporate one. Thanks for the review.

Simple concept

Nice game. Overall, I think this is a well presented little game, but it could do with a backing audio track, as that might just be what is required to put people off :P

Perhaps giving each animal a different sound would make for an improved 'realism', although with the context of the game, I'm not entirely sure that would be the right word...

Thanks Coop83 for your review again! Will look into your suggestions.

Almost a daily first

What I'd really say that this game needs is a 'view available moves' button. My god, it became really tough when I couldn't see a move to perform. Perhaps consider penalising time for that manouver, or make it available only a limited number of times per game / level.

Still, this is a nicely festive game that is slightly addictive. I would say that with some sort of musical accompaniment, you'd certainly be onto a winner with this entire game concept.

Hey Coop83,

i've added a "hint" button in the game. Thanks for your review also=)

Decent effort

OMG, I hope that my review isn't abusive, that would be quite embarrasing :P

Still, this is more of an informative game than people are probably going to give it credit for, as you can play and learn the value of the whistle (Although the points scale is definately more simple that that of NG)

Of course, I'm not the best user at this game, because as soon as I was made into a review mod, I got demoted. Cest la vie, isn't it?

A nice effort, with the overall flash, but I would suggest that in the instructions page, you note that the movie options is brought about by pressing the down arrow, like you said to us about our whistle stats by pressing the up arrow.

Little-Rena responds:

I did mention the movie options thing in the instructions, it says it underneath about the stats part, I made sure I put it in, lol. And yeah, it isn't suppost to be accurate in points but thanks for the review.

Strangely addictive

This game is so addictive, my girlfriend is now moaning at me for spending too much time on the computer... That might be viewed as a good thing from your point of view.

A nice little game, with lots of NG style features makes this game a winner for me. I'm not sure that I liked some of the styles of the enemies, but from what I got up to (approximately level 15 icons attacking), it seemed to be working well overall.

Perhaps a bigger screen for the game would make things slightly more bearable, plus a few different music tracks or indeed a mute button, because then I could play it to AC/DC :P

Maybe indicating that you've leveled up would be a ncie addition, plus bonuses for killing all enemies on certain levels, with timers or something else like that would make for a more rounded game.

Objection responds:

I chose the Kingdom Hearts music because I thought it would be appropriate.
If I were to add a mute button, I'd need an unmute button as well and I'm not entirely sure how to do that.
Finally, I like your thinking about timers. I might add another couple of modes of gameplay.

Too many players

I think that this game is great, with the unique pictures and range of answers available. However, with so many players flicking in and out of the game during play it's not the best way to play. I'd suggest that you make a set limit on players and don't suddenly let players join in halfway through a game.

Maybe give some scope for a set few personalities to make a set selection, to make up the numbers, should the game be played when there are few people online.

Looking forward to the next game :)

Hi there, thanks for your feedback, We have considered putting robots in but it would be quite tricky to do. We'll give it some more thought and let you know!

Not bad

The plot is a little linear, as with most platform games, sadly. I'd like to see better graphics and also an easier way around the first boss - break the player in gently, with a first boss that has an easy way around, then crank it up on the second one.

I have no idea what those bad guy things were, they looked kind of like ambient turds, wandering around the place. I'd reccomend that you get more different kinds of enemies, which act differently. It looks like you've borrowed a bit from Super Mario and Sonic - the two classic platform games. Look at their different arrays of enemies and work from that.

The drawing style will improve as you go on, so I look forward to seeing your next submission.

Abs55 responds:

Thanks for the review. The plot, I thought, was original but simple and in my next game I could amke a plot a bit more interesting. The graphics, I thought were good but I guess I still need to improve my drawings :) I wanted to make the first boss hard so that the player wants to play it again, to beat him but I see where you are coming from.

The bad guys in the first part of the game were rocks that you could find in the desert. Later on in the game, there are other types of enemies, who can be seen on the main menu and instructions. I will take your opinion into mind and add more variety of enemies in my next game.

Thanks again for the review :)

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
