Good stuff

I like the concept of this episode. It reminds me of Zipperfish's, You are a Fucking Moron' series, but gives them the chance to answer back.

I'm not too sure about not using the original clock voices. I'm not saying that the ones you used aren't any good (were they your own?), but I just prefer a little 'Old Skool' Clock voiceover.

The facial picutres, while simplistically manipulated with about 8-10 different shots look really complicated, but at the same time so simple and effective.

The only thing we really need for this to be better is to make the episode longer.

StrangeClock responds:

I think making it longer than this would make it boring, unless I'd turn it into a Late Night type of deal where there'd be three guests instead of just one.

Thanks for the review!

Quantity over quality

If quality was rated as quantity, this would be the best thing I've seen on NG. However, I can say that it is definately NOT that. Don't get me wrong, the animation style is great, the music is a little loud in places, causing static feedback, but the parts all seem a little disjointed.

I viewed it and it looks like a group of like minded animators have had one MSN conversation, gone away for three months and come up with a 2 minute animation, which is tenuously linked to the other pieces.

If you spent more time working as a team, you could get a much more refined article. Perhaps rather than using a music background, you could script and voice it. Then even though the animation style changes, the voices could allow you to differentiate the characters etc.

Not bad, just not as good as I expected from an 11Mb file.

keicho responds:

it was actually 8 months, and 6 minutes run time

YOU KILLED HIS CONCIENSE?!

Uh oh, I have a bad feeling about this. Without the conciense to at least reign in Blockhead a little, I forsee only rack and ruin for such a nice character :(

Still, a philosophical construct shouldn't be too ahrd to ressurect *starts working feverishly at his lab bench*

The-Swain responds:

Look at it this way: if the shot didn't take Blockhead down, then how could the Conscience be so lucky as to die for good?

Needs refinement

The sound is not too bad, but there is a trace of static. You need to do more than just animate one figure, who doesn't even look remotely like Alice Cooper to be able to cut it here.

A little more research and a refined drawing of your character (maybe add a few more band members, as Alice Cooper was originally a group of 5 people.)

I decided to protect it, but I feel it needs more work. Try another one and I'll see how that looks.

nicknaggriff responds:

its not supposed to be alice cooper, its just supposed to be a student, and i guess ur right about the static though

A little rough around the edges

A good flash here, though I have to admit I'm not really a fan of either sprite movies or Mario, I will say this is a good movie.

The scenes where you get close into the characters ruin it for me. With sprites, the characters look really bad when you zoom in, but kept at the usual small size, they do work.

And with the sound, either keep it as subtitled and have no voices, or voice it all. Half measures lost you brownie points here.

I'm not being negative, I'm giving you food for thought, so make a better one and I'll leave a better review ;)

Trunks responds:

Hey, thanks a lot for the thought out review!
I'm sorry if I zoomed in a bit too much for the sprites. Looking back on it, it does look a bit... ugly...

~~--==!!!The voices in the CODEC scene were there because it was making fun of MGS's speech scenes!!!==--~~

I am changing the file to make it more obvious.
Thanks for the food, I just wish I had some brownie points to wash it down... ;D

Funny cliffhanger

I think this series has legs and will go a long way. And I thought the first two episodes were funny. The jokes are simple and effective, delivered through a brilliantly animated, well thought out cartoon.

I can't wait for the next part, as these aliens need to be really messed up to kidnap Nutsy & Klutsy

chubbybunny responds:

There won't be another part. You'll have to go to www.nutsyandklutsy.com and watch the whole episode to see what happens.

It started so well

but when you suddenly spent 5 minutes with a bear and a shark careering toward each other, I came to conclusion that you had run out of inspiration for this flash.

I thought you were just trying to fill up the music (which took up most of the file size, learn to cut them down) but nothing else happens.

You have the start of a good (3.00+) flash movie. Please don't let it go to waste.

Poison-Rat responds:

Herut (Hebrew: çøåú "Freedom") was the political party of the Revisionist Zionist movement in Israel. It was conservative and nationalistic and became the main opposition to the Israeli Labour Party. Herut was led from its inception in 1948 by Menachem Begin and after 1983 by Yitzhak Shamir. In 1965, Herut joined with the Liberal Party of Israel to form the Gahal bloc though it retained its own organization within the new party and dominated the new formation. In 1973, Gahal merged with other right wing parties to form Likud, but again, Herut maintained a dominant role in the new party and the main leaders of Likud, including Begin and his successors such as Yitzhak Shamir have been Herut leaders. In 1988 the parties in the Likud coalition, including Herut, formally merged and Herut ended its independent existence.

Herut started out as a medium sized party with 14 seats in the first Israeli Knesset. It was considered to be outside the Israeli consensus, and David Ben-Gurion famously said he was willing to add any party to the coalition "except Herut and Maki," Maki being the Israeli Communist party at the time. It gradually grew, feeding on feelings of resentment against the leading Labour party, mainly among new Sephardi immigrants. In 1967, already being a part of Gahal which had 22 Knesset members, it joined the national unity government created during the Six Day War. It remained in the government for another term, but quit in 1970 due to disagreement over the Rogers plan [1]. It remained an opposition party until, now part of the Likud, seizing power in the 1977 Israeli elections. Herut remained the leading faction of the Likud electoral coalition until 1988 when Likud's factions formally dissolved and Likud became a unitary political party.

In 1998 a new Herut party was created by dissenting members of the Likud led by Michael Kleiner and Benny Begin. See Herut The National Movement for this movement.

Herut branches currently are active on five continents.

Needs work

But I think it will be protected. you should try and put lips on your characters, since then you can telll who's talking when.

the sound isn't too bad, though you could try either turning the mic sensitivity down or moving the mic a little further away from your mouth.

And lastly, don't beg in your author notes, people see that as an excuse to blam content.

You will get there, good luck

NaVaRz responds:

Yeah im sure we will get there soon :D

Getting funnier

Every time I watch a new episode, these things make me laugh harder. If the series gets as big as 20 episodes, I'll have tyo upgrade my health insurance.

JonBro responds:

Uh, how's 30 episodes sound? Plus a full-length movie?

Thanks!

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
