Great Improvement!

I love the way that this game looks - you've given it a nice feel and the graphics are nicely balanced with the gameplay aspect of it. Perhaps a tutorial level would help, especially if people get stuck in the gravity wells near the larger planets available on the levels.

I'd suggest a "galaxy builder" style of game, with a time limit and the chance to build a number of planets with the required statistics - barren rock, fertile planet, gas giant, etc. You would be able to select the number of satellites and progress from there - you've got a lot of potential, considering things like random orbits of things like asteroids, so give it a go.

I love this game and can see a lot more of my spare time being taken up playing this piece!

A little simple

It's not a bad little game, but it does have a relatively simple setup. I'm willing to believe that it needs a little touch or two to make it truly good, but it seems like the game "Medieval Rampage" in the top down setup, so the best I can advise for you is to make the images of the fighters look more like top down people. Perhaps have a range of weapons and then go through the motions of making each weapon deal a degree of damage and taking off hit points. Of course, you'd need to make the weapons a more realistic size, to reflect the size they are, compared to the people - this isn't Final Fantasy ;)

Sure, it's a start, but you've got a great platform to build on. Music could be added and optional blood splatters, for example. I look forward to seeing what else you can come up with for your next version.

Sound effects would be good - a clash of swords, a person getting stabbed (madness sound there?), plus the aforementioned music would bring a new degree of life to this piece.

Interesting game

I'm not a fan of how much harder it gets if you make a mistake, but at the end of the day, it's a rather nice looking game. I won't go so far to say that it's very addictive, but it's the sort of game that can be built upon - get as many prizes as possible for the kids, without getting thrown out of the park, for example.

I quite liked the crayoned background, integrated with the flash animated foreground. It's an interesting mix, completed with some good music. I would certainly advise that you work on the sounds, as they don't seem to represent either happy / sad kids and the sound of ice cream splatting against the glass.

Well, it's a bio collection

To be honest, it's not really that enjoyable, unless you're getting into the series itself. I think that you've done a good job with the setup - making it look like personnel files that you have on the various characters, you might consider needing to get a little more depth in the descriptions and better images for them, but other than that, it's not bad at all.

I'd suggest that you do something about the Luigi piece, which is just not needed at all. I hope it's only a folly of youth that you've grown out. Perhaps you need to sort something out that stops the sounds from that when you click the back button?

I'd have a selection of music tracks, because there's plenty of music on the Audio Portal that you can use for these types of flash.

I've seen better

I think that the drawing style was quite nice here - a well thought out concept and a pretty fun way of bringing a game that's been done before back with a new outlook on it.

I'd have suggested that you make the dinosaur faster and more responsive to the controls, as sluggish would not quite cover it. Waking the dinosaur up enough to squash neanderthals would make the game more enjoyable and more addictive.

Try adding a splash of colour to the proceedings, as this will improve the look of it greatly - you've drawn good looking dinosaurs, mountains and people, but seeing them squished in glorious full colour would be even better :)

Finally, I'd consider adding something along the lines of power ups, such as a Pterodactyl strike, where that screen gets cleared (one use), extra lives, faster movement, that sort of thing come into play - it's another dimension for the game that can bring you awards.

Okay, the dinosaur is a bit on the slow side. It speeds up over time though or when stomping the running cavemen. And everyone seems to want color and more power-ups, right now everything is controlled with the movement speed variable. Even "Pause" is just setting the movement speed to 0. It could use more work.

Nice sounds

Crisp, clear and not entirely from the feature presentation, this piece shows that you can produce some pretty good sounding pieces, that put together make for a good piece. What I would say is that the background can be a little confusing here - perhaps fade it out slightly, to make the buttons more prominent.

I think that you could have taken a picture or two from the Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory film - Gene Wilder imagery, as well as those from the Johnny Depp film that was the more recent production of the classic tale.

The bonus movie was shocking - perhaps you need to ditch that all together, though a scope exists for making it into a platform for your latest animation pieces, with the madness style shape assassins.

I can see this getting developed further over your time on Newgrounds, so I look forward to more of your pieces.

Thanks, the reason I didn't use one from the original movie was because I couldn't find a good one!

Needs a little 'oompf'

It's not a bad little piece and you're certainly getting close to cutting edge with the whole "interactive" outlook on the projects that you've producing, but I think that what people need is some way of recording little pieces and putting it all together, so that they can see if they would be any good at this sort of thing.

It's a basic drum kit setup, but it could use extra drums - more research is required, plus some better drawing. Perhaps they could use a splash of colour, just to get it all to look so much better? The other way you can take this of course is to make a Rock Band style mini game, where you click the drums in the right order to play a quick tune. You're pretty good when it comes to interactive stuff, so why not give that a go?

Wow, good idea, if I can figure out how to do it properly.

Add some colour

It seems like you're trying to get towards the old chestnut of the game similar to any of the meet & fuck games, or something similar. The drawing isn't bad at all, but a lot of work is required on the interface.

Firstly, I'd suggest that you add some colour to your drawings, as it will make the final product look so much better. You moving the images around does give you an extra dimension over the popular series mentioned above, so stick with that :)

When it comes to the game interface, make a box at the base of the screen, so that all conversation can take place in there, with a little snapshot of the face, showing who is speaking, plus you only have to make two or three buttons for all interaction and just copy them across for the rest of the piece - saving you time, which you can spend elsewhere.

Once you've got that sorted, develop more of a plot and take it further and remember it's up to you what happens - you might have some sort of joke about watch cartoon porn at the end, for example. Thinking outside the box works a treat, so give it a shot and we'll see what you can come up with. I look forward to seeing what you can produce.

Thanks for the review. :)

Like I said in a response before this, it was a requirement for the class that our final be in black and white. That being said, I know it was made sloppily. We were crazy rushed. This scenario will present itself again, with more animation, voice clips, a better interface and less annoying music ;) I appreciate the time you spent writing your review, and I will take what you said into consideration. Be on the lookout for episode 1, we are starting on it soon. :)

Pretty darned good

Improved playability over the last incarnation and the game in itself is certainly showing a signs of being better than the last version - I like the addition of the hand to hand weaponry that you can use in this game, as opposed to being just an archer type, like last time.

I think that you could use a tutorial level, to keep the game flowing nicely, as it does take a little time to work out the controls of the whole game and putting them up on the screen at the start of a level. I'd also set the game up with a black line across the top, showing the stats, like how many potions are left, hit points and the like - I find it difficult to look at that at the best of times, especially with the pace of the game being quite frantic.

A good breakdown of medals, much like the last game - I can certainly see me getting a few more of those, as I play my way through the game over the next few days or weeks.

xdragonx10 responds:

Thanks, I'm glad you liked the additions.

That stuff already is at the top of the screen, where do you suggest I put it to make it more accessible
during combat?

Good luck ^.^

I'm Orange Clock, apparently

Well, it's another pretty good quiz, that I can certainly see people enjoying over the Newgrounds 'holidays' to come, especially the August 15th spectacular, that this particular quiz is highly relevant to.

I quite like the range of questions, as they do tend to relate to certain parts of Clock Crew folklore, which is always good. A shame that there were only three results available for the quiz and that you put the spoiler answer in the notes, which is a real bummer, as I don't like to know what to go for before I have a go at the quiz for the first time.

Not your best effort on the graphics, but since this is over 3 years old now, you've got plenty of time to have been able to improve your abilities, which I'll make some allowances for :)

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
