Do you know how sad this makes me?!

I just clicked all the way through that for the epilepsy flasher page at the end? Wow, that's anticlimactic.

Anyway, there's a decent plot, which takes some writing to get a half decent result from the monologue. It's progressed quite well through, as claimed 600-700 frames, though it doesn't seem that long, to be honest. I think that there are other things you could have done to the button, for sure, but it does seem to work quite well as you sorted it.

Different buttons could have come along into the picture and thrown insults at the green button, thus displaying how hurt his feelings can really get - this was the sort of thing that I was expecting to be honest, but that's the way you wanted to play it and it is your movie, after all.

Mexican Space Program

A great little game that plays to fart humour and the life and times of Newground's favourite Mexican! Happy Luis Day to one and all :)

I love the graphics, especially when I'm nearing the end, as the sky slowly changes colour and in the end when the mission inevitably fails - how many body parts can you cover the floor with? I managed quite a covering of bones and blood, that's for sure.

The punchline is excellent, as I finally managed to assist Luis into space for Luis Day 2009. God speed and say hello to the Martians will you? I'm sure that they'll have some Oxygen that you can use!

Great game

It's certainly quite addictive - I've gotten 4 of the medals and here I am still trying to get the other 6. I like a game that can grab your attention and keep it for so long.

It does tend to get quite easy in the early going after you've been through the game once, having levelled up some of your cards and then being able to use a really effective deck of monsters and spells to destroy the enemy quickly. Although in later levels, this does become quite a challenge, which is good to see.

Good strategy, but the controls can be a little glitchy for me - when you click a spell and try to activate it, it sometimes takes 3-4 clicks for the spell to register and the fireball to fly at the enemy. Perhaps some of the skills that your heroes learn as they level up could give their monsters greater speed, hit points, or power and then on top of that, you could have one to make your spells charge quicker, for example. It's always a ball-ache, waiting for the phoenix to come in and wipe out the horrendous waves of enemy units.

Great graphics, slightly annoying music, well worked out deaths for various monsters and overall a very impressive game. Good work with the medals as well, although a shame that they don't show up all the time when you unlock them.

Decent...

A nice show of drawing skills from across the BBS, ranging from the insightful to the downright bizarre. The main issue with this is that I think there needs to be some sort of a sister thread for discussion about this and authors are given their own chance to bounce ideas off each other before putting a submission down.

For me, the random factor was too much. I really dread to think what the result would have been if this had been launched in the General Forum :P

Aside from the more obvious issues with the drawing skills, there is the state of the layout - rather basic, being a slideshow that has only one song playing to accompany it. Perhaps you need to branch out and pick different tunes to accompany the mood of the piece, as it changes throughout. Either that or just put a selection of tunes up, so that people can chop and change as they see fit.

Fantastic!

A very well designed game that works with great applications of Physics! Well done.

Did you ever take inspiration from the legendary Honda advert, the was a massive chain reaction to get the Honda Flag to show eventually?

I think that the best way to take this forward is extra gadgets. Switches are always something which can be incredibly useful and versatile - switch on fans, for example, drop the hammer, which launches the object ball at the cup.

Additional tasks would help, with some sort of bizarre laboratory based game that you need to fix certain machines, to assist the bosses experiments that you need to complete before he'll sign your grant certificate. Of course, there could be some sort of bonus level, where you actually change something subtly on his experiment and manage to claim all of the credit. Really good use of the medal as well :)

Amazing work

What a tribute to classic gaming - I love the way that you start off with a modern looking character and slowly degrade the graphics and the music. It's done so well, that you can barely spot where it changes from one section of graphics or sound to another.

A great few medals that were a little challenging to get, but perseverance gets you there in all things.

A nice plotline that really does work as a tribute to all 1980s platform games like Super Mario etc and even goes as far back as things like Pac Man and Pong. Perhaps you'll come up with some sort of sequel, where Jason returns from the pilgrimage and finds that the world has altered slightly, so he has to go on some sort of quest to improve the way of life for him and the people around him?

Has a few issues

It's not a bad animation to be honest, though I would suggest that you work on the game mechanics slightly - there are issues with jumping over the water - when you drop off the vine, if you so much as touch the water, you die. The sound effect for the death was a little on the loud side, compared to the precedent you set with the sound effect for the jumping.

The other main issue I have is the way that when you come to a ladder, you lose score for dropping down - you should be able to stand on the ladder and climb down, without your score dropping.

The graphics are good, the concept is well devised and overall, it is a nice game. I can see this going further.

much thanks. i think what i need to do is also add a sound effect for "falling". another thing i might try is letting the users customize the sound volumes etc. again i am learning AS3 (well still 6 months into it), and my bag of tricks isnt huge yet.

thanks for the encouragement and ill look more into what else i can add. if anything could you also put up some links to any other ideas/tutorials i could implement.

Not bad

This game has a few addictive qualities although the amount of strain it puts on my forearm while trying to control the arrow keys solely with my left hand means the game should probably carry a health warning :P

Quite a basic concept, but I like it - there are certain types of puzzle games out there similar to this that cater to different tastes, but I like the base of the puzzle game - I've suggested this for the puzzles collection,a s a result.

An easy to use interface and what could certainly turn into hours of fun!

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
