Delightfully difficult

This game looks so simple when first you start to play, however it is much more than 'just' a game. Blockhead is really quite a complex character, as I have seen from watching all of the cartoons featuring him. This game proves without doubt what a challenging existence his conscience has.

A few glitches with the sound and 'level failed' on the second level prevented us from progressing, but I am putting that down to my computer, rather than your own skills. I can see myself becoming quite addicted to this game over the next few days.

Are you planning on making a sequel to this? I'm an avid fan of your work, so I'll look forward to anything with the Blockhead branding on it!

Long winded, but fun

A lot of different endings for this game means that it will take quite a while to get through them all. If each different combination means that there is a different ending, you have spent an absolute age getting everything in place for this game.

The lack of animation in the characters is where this game falls down, I feel. I can understand why they don't have voices, since this would put the filesize up over 10Mb, but when the pictures just stand there and don't do anything, it makes me feel that you got a little bored, having written so much description of the dates and the endings etc.

Are you planning on a sequel?

Highly addictive

Simplistic games concepts are the speciality of Ikoncity and boy can I see why!

The game is well designed and layed out so that you can play this for hours at a time. Even a sudoku novice, such as myself had a hard time stopping playing even to write this review.

I'm looking forward to seeing some more of your work in the near future, keep it up!

Not a bad game

I think that it's going to take me a while before I completely understand how to do this, because my timing is a little off (If only I played cricket this well in reality)

I think that it is difficult to tell where the ball actually is when the fielders are chasing it - I've thought it was over the fielder's head, when it was caught - probably due to the camera angle looking down the ground.

I'd prefer a closer view of the ball / fielder, while keeping an eye on the batsmen running - runouts get me far too often

A little rough around the edges...

For me, this game needs more work. I think that your guide line might need some tweaking, as some computer pool / snooker games show where the objuect ball (colour) will go when you have hit it with the cue ball (white)

Also, the 'stick' is called a cue, which is something that really looks bad when you're talking about a game of pool - you may as well have called it a 2x4, to be honest.

I'd suggest a black background, as pool halls are never that light that and maybe put numbers on the balls, just to make it look more realistic

A little on the slow side...

If this game had the pace quickened a little, it would be absolutely awesome. The problem being that Vlad isn't the quickest guy in town. (I have a dead grandfather who moves quicker) and that is what really lets the games down.

The graphics are cartoony and they look pretty good. The sound gets a little annoying after a while, in the way any arcade game should, but it's not so annoying that you refuse to ever play again.

It is clear that you've thought this game through. Are you planning on a sequel (or another version of this) or are you making this just a one-off?

Paranoia responds:

The speed is due to the lag. It's supposed to run at like three or four times the speed it does, and probably will in the year 2070 when we all have supercomputers...

As for a sequel, I'm not planning anything directly following on from this, but I will probably do some more stuff with similar gameplay / graphics.

(And less lag).

Delightfully simple

This is an amazingly addictive game and I can see a lot of time being spent on this one

I love the little features within the game, even though I was thinking that it was an actual game of chess, it has proven to be much more than that.

Plus it actually helps me with the most difficult and possibly the most understated piece in the game, the knight.

Are there any other great games you can do this to?

Delightfully Addictive

That game is such a great way to waste away a lunch hour, you wouldn't believe.

Having discovered how to play it, I set about attempting to master it (A nice tactic is dragging the fakes over toward the bottom left of the screen, which frees up a little room)

I can see quite a few more hours spent on this delightful offering.

Needs to be a little faster

The game is great, but maybe the ball needs to reflect a real pinball table, by making the ball move faster - the first game I played all of my timing was screwed up, as I'd flicked the flipper before the ball had even reached it (Not that I'm the world's greatest pinball wizards, but...)

It's a shame I couldn't get to actually beat this game to see the 'you've won' part. I saw the loser screen, which was quite graphic, but I'm sure some people would find that amusing.

Make some more Pinball games, this one was great

Great game

This game is as violent as Dad'n'Me and just as well made. So you're shooting kids half your size with a water pistol. They're kids, so they're probably better at it than me - they prved it during my time playing anyway :S

The controls take a little getting used to, but they certainly work. I didn't get very far through, but from the little snippit I saw, slapping the little bastards at close range seemed to be my best defence, rather than trying to pick them off from range.

I'm not really a fan of the foreground items which can get in the way of the gameplay from time to time, as the kids hide behind them - almost as if you intended it.

Will there be a sequel or will you be concentrating on other projects?

Glaiel-Gamer responds:

there will be a sequal

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
