[Goldfish #4]

Limited, but fun

I quite liked this concept, even though the flash itself in terms of plotline is going to be limited. It's not like they can really have adventures which go on forever in a glass bowl, is it?

Still, you've done well with the lip-sync and the music / sound effects. Personally, I would like to see the two goldfish with different voices, as it just doesn't seem right for them to have the same voice.

Still, it's a good flash, how long will we have to wait for Episode 5?

Too short

Well, that's the start, as it really needs to be about 2 minutes longer to get anywhere. There's no blood, no discernable way of telling that the combatants have taken damage and I'd only judge who the winner is, because his opponent has just been thrown off screen.

It looks like a Clock Crew rip off, with Apple and Orange. Just another way of doing it, I suppose. The movements were nice and fluid, which certainly proves that you're capable of moving this project forward.

Mixed feelings

Watching this with a mind to reviewing it, I've gone on a real rollercoaster of how to rate this flash. You've actually made it quite difficult for me, which says a lot.

The tune is decent, though I would suggest that you employ something to keep your tempo a little better, as you didn't quite stay to the set pace and it sounds a little off, particularly when you switch to the chorus and back. That and you're playing all of 4 chords maximum, which is very basic.

Still, I'm not a music critic, so I've got to rate the animation as well. You've done a good job animating the whole thing, so you can build on that. The plot was good and you did stay reasonably true to the lyrics. I'd draw your attention to "Sitcoms or Documentaries", where the character holds up scrubs for sitcoms. Why not take that slightly further and hold up a DVD of a documentary, like Life on Earth, or something?

Still, keep on playing and give us some more flash music videos, I'll look forward to them

Well this song is a basic, but fairly effective song at getting the mood across, which is all it needs to do to be catchy really. :) I was thinking about having him hold up a Documentary, but I'm a bit lazy. A good start.

So, you've shown us that you can use flash neatly, complete with Manga-esque drawing techniques.

I think you'd do well with this flash, if you decided what would happen next and take this further. Maybe add sound effects and of course some plot, as the drawing and animation techniques and style work well, so good work on that.

I'm intrigued to see what you'd do with this character, though you could have used something different that something that looks (by your own admission) suspiciously like a flying sperm, as it may raise slight concerns (along with my eyebrows)

Thank you for the review, but as I mentioned in my original comments, this flash was done for two very specific assignments-subtle and dynamic animation (as explained in my new comments). It was my first opportunity to work in any medium I wanted, so I chose something I had never done-flash. As far as my choice of style in this assignment, time commanded me to use simple, efficient character designs...which is important to animation regardless. This happens to be the style that is simple and quick for me, and perfect for an assignment that I have one week (or one day when my file crashes right before the deadline) to complete.
The plot will not be extended since it was solely for use in the assignments, but I will try creating plots for this character in the future.
And as for the flying sperm. I did NOT see it as that when I created this. Some guys in my class called it that, which makes me a)want to change it and b)make sure everyone knows that's not what I was going for.
