Thoroughly addictive

Well, what can I say? Half an afternoon and I'm about 4k shy of a 120k medal boost, but when it comes down to it, I've had a wonderfully enjoyable time in doing so.

The graphics are great and the way that everything seems to focus around the movement of the mouse is excellent. I particularly love the ingenious way that you've adapted the traditional paddle game and have concocted a three dimensional piece that is a highly engrossing game. Every aspect looks fantastic and you're certainly onto a winner with this. Perhaps stop making it so difficult to get through these levels, with a powerup that will help you remove silverballs, which gradually make the place very deadly and difficult to control around.

I'm glad that you can still see the cursor, but sometimes, I still move the cursor out of bounds and the paddles don't respond like I want them to. Would this benefit from a keyboard control interface, with up / down controlling the verticals and left / right controlling the horizontals?

Very addictive and very fun

I like this piece - the graphics are simple and yet the game keeps me playing. While the gameplay is enthralling, it does get a little tedious sometimes, when the mouse pointer moves out of the playing area and you lose goons because of it.

The only way I could really see that improving is to get a larger playing area and have the controls increase in sensitivity slightly. From there, you could get a much more fun piece, if there was a slight improvement on the controls interface.

Still, I did enjoy it and the medals will bring me back to try again :)

An enjoyable romp

Well, this certainly does lead off where Pyroscape finishes. I think that the way that the two plots meshed together were pretty good, in spite of the fact that you're now in a different building, but all of the furniture is the same. Perhaps you needed to find a friend's room and grab some photos of it, before letting them get back to sleep.

With the way that the playability of the game works, it is pretty good, though you could change the instruction for part 4 of the sequence to "Press Left" to deal with the programming issue, for example.

I think that there is certainly room for improvement in the Final Fantasy style battle scene, with the way that the fire does nothing to you and it's a pretty linear way to get the medals, the only real enjoyment on that scale is getting the secret medals, one of which I still haven't discovered... yet.

Yeah, even if we fix the errors it takes months at a time for an admin to accept them. We actually fixed things in Pyroscape 1 a long time ago, but yet no change has occurred.

Anyway, all of those things that you are talking about I told Mono to do. He was just lazy about it and half-assed it. ;)

Last medal is around the boss fight though so try it again. You'll find it I'm sure.

And so the story continues

A nice little game and the cause and effect has been continued from the last chapter, which is great. Perhaps there is a way to increase what you need, like by adding more items that you need for one or two of the quests and perhaps having the option of asking Blonda or the Brunette out, with different endings?

You've progressed well and have used a nice piece of music to go along with this and as a whole piece, you can tell where the game has gone forward. I'm actually getting quite excited to see how this next episode takes the story onwards.

Thank you for your review, I am glad you are excited to see how the next episode takes the story onwards. And I'll be sure to make the next episode longer.

Not bad, but needs a little more

There isn't really much to differentiate this game from the rest of the mahjong titles around, where the object is much the same - the one difference I did notice is that most games require one free horizontal side, as opposed to two adjacent sides to make them available.

The graphics were decent, but something was lost within the program, so it did make it difficult for me to see the images that you've drawn. This does not make them completely unrecognisable, but doesn't do your tag "extremely impressive graphics" any justice. Taking it from there, you could have a shuffle option, in order for players to progress further than a string of levels until one mistake costs you the game.

Very interesting

A great game alongside the annals of "Toss the Turtle" and "Hedgehog Launch" and possibly my favourite to boot. A wide variety of weapons and variables to play with, so you can get into the swing of the whole game, so to speak.

I particularly like the feature of running after the geek and then twatting him another few miles down the course - something that I feel would really enhance the game of golf that is played by the professionals, these days.

The graphics are brilliant and your writing is pretty good, though some sort of explanation as to why you're bludgeoning a fat nerdy kid may be necessary to get this part of the game tied in with the tomfoolery.

For a game, it needs some work

I'm not really sure about the plot that this game has (if any) but it is pretty safe to say that you need to work on this piece to get it up to scratch.

Firstly, get yourself a subtitles bar across the bottom of the screen, so that you can get the piece tidied up a little. Practice on cutting out better, as you can make a spammy flash look better, by making the white background from around the half eaten burger disappear. That's really simple, so give it a go.

Perhaps when the door came up, you could have turned the handle into the button, as opposed to making a rhetorical question about opening the door - no other option, so there is nothing else that you can do except close the game and go elsewhere.

Add some more plot to it, like you need to get a few items to open the door and then the psychedelic episode could lead to something that either becomes part 2 or a further extension of this piece.

Happy Pico Day!

Well, it's a relatively easy game, once you figure out the objectives of it all and you've added NG Medals, to make it even more interesting. I love the two different styles of play, though the random stream of characters is more difficult to type in Easy mode than the somewhat less difficult to discern pattern that you find at the same stage on hard mode.

A few tries after originally catching this game, I've got all of the medals, but it's a decent challenge and I quite like the sentiments of the game, since you can really get to grips with a game like this. A shame that it's more of a rhythm style game for Pico and Darnell, than it is with Nene, since she's almost a proper typing game.

Pretty good, if a little freaky when it comes to the artwork - I think I know of a few actors who have had biceps in their faces before, which certainly made them stand out in their profession. As a natural progression, I'd have made the can explode on hard mode and have Pico trying to pull bits of cola soaked aluminium shrapnel out of his face.

An Hilarious Romp!

Wow, how far can you take a concept so simple? This far! The graphics have been designed well and while the gamplay is quite simple, there is still more you could do to enhance it.

The music was good and not that annoying, while the sound effects were just perfect for a game of this calibre - funny, but you always get the feeling that you could be doing this for one of your own.

To improve upon the concept, I'd have recommended that you have more grannies and grandpas that go flying through the air and have them equipped with various types of jewellery, that the paramedics in the ambulance can easily purloin - this would be the bonus to your score, thus giving you the chance to get a really high score and possibly even bonus lives (buy your way out of trouble for killing off some of the pensioners, that is)

With the limitation of this game quite steep, perhaps take a step to combat this, by adding levels in various places across the USA, ending in places like California and / or Florida, since lots of wealthy Americans end up there, thus giving even more ridiculous amounts of cash.

SantoNinoDeCebu responds:

Some of those idea's about how to gain extra lives are genius!

I'm now intending to make a flash that has a series of mini games like this, weaved together in a little story mode - I'll be sure to add in some of these ideas!
Nothing beats ransacking old people!

Simple, topical and amusing

What more can we really say - it's a great little game, even with the way it works for a loss. I think I'd have preferred to see it used as the cardinal getting kicked out of the church or going to hell, so a little more artwork on your part certainly would not have gone amiss. I'm not a fan of tracing, so real art work would have certainly lifted your score.

With the way that it's come together as a whole piece, I think that you've got a great piece, but it does get limited with no real story in addition to the news about the Pope and Paedophile priests, which as we all know is nothing new. Perhaps get different scenarios and the Vatican goes on high alert, so there could be a bonus round, where the Pope does something stupid to get attention and divert the paparazzi away from the real news?

Rabid-Animals responds:

Thanks, Coop. I like the suggestions, and now the difficult part is programming, drawing, and producing it all.

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
