Not bad

A good choice of music, well animated and a very interesting background of the torn jotting pad. I think that given a little more work, this could certainly be a very good piece. Some parts of the animation, particularly the wilting rose felt like they were slightly rushed, which is a shame, to be honest, as drawing it out will only serve you well.

I can certainly see that you'd be capable of something bigger, perhaps even with a completely different background and maybe some colours. I think that's the natural progression for you.

I think that's you've interpreted the music really well and that bodes well for your creative skills and overall your writing, since you've got to come up with the inspiration and turn it into something from the brainstorm.

Thanks Coop for the review, you are completely right in every aspect that you specified here, I really wish I could've spent more time here, the blinks ended up being extremely rushed because I ended up adding them to make the scenes a bit more active than just a little tiny graphic for 30 secs.

Thanks again for the review, I'm sure that I won't rush so much my next movie, which will most likely come after my Po3 game!

So glad I bought the shirt :D

Well, the killer punchlines keep flying along, don't they, Mr. Swain, sir? I love the way that you're really getting into this character - have you drawn any inspiration for Mastermind from your own personal experiences, of is it solely from watching movies like James Bond and Star Trek?

Still, I'm really starting to appreciate the red colour scheme and now these episodes are getting even better with the additions of extra voices from Hans and Andy. These guys have really joined in well with the whole spirit of the thing.

A shame that the miscellaneous goon or Ophelia didn't have a bigger part in this, as they have been cornerstones of the whole series. From here, world domination can only be a few steps away.

The writing and animation is awesome and I only wish that anything I ever say or do could possibly influence you - what about some sort of copycat mastermind, who obviously becomes a thorn in the side of out anti-hero? Now there's some sort of fanboy-esque tomfoolery that I can certainly relate to!

Weird

I think that this is probably one of the more bizarre movies that I've ever seen on Newgrounds - the animation was quite smooth and well drawn, although there was a little too much emphasis on cock jokes, for my liking.

The piece was a little short and the most annoying part of it was that the music was so quiet through the animation, that the rock tune that comes on for the credits really does blow your mind - possibly it needs a different selection of track for the credits and speak to the author of the track that you used for the movie to get the volume up a little - this seemingly insignificant change will make a huge difference. Perhaps some sound effects as well would show a great benefit.

You can never have too many cock jokes.

Inspired Works

What a stellar collection of work.

This truly is a remarkable piece, where you all have exactly the same sound sample to use for your own imagination to run riot. I note that pretty much everyone had the occurrence of the rubber duck for the squeaks. Did you talk to one another about what you were thinking, or did you just get the sound and go your own separate ways to come up with what you could?

While these may not be the best animated pieces that we will ever see, this is most certainly a great way to get a foot in the door, by showing how you can interpret direction and have good fun while making a flash like this.

My intentions for organizing this through PM, were a) so people didn't constantly ask for parts, and b) was so that there was no contact with each other, and any similarities in parts came abut coincidentally. That is some of the magic of this particular collab :D

Awesomely funny

A great episode, complete with some new features integrated especially into the new widescreen layout, I see. I also love the comment about "Stealing and reposting on Youtube". What exactly is a douche muncher? Is that some sort of Zombie with a craving for douches?

Quite a nice zombie animation, although I would question how the zombie is actually able to speak, not having a lower jaw, not the lips required for forming most of the words that he would say ;)

Still, that's about the only fault and it would take away from the comedy, making it about as coherent as an episode of Weebl & Bob, I suppose. A few good gags thrown into the background for good measure as well, just to keep us that actually pay attention to stuff like that satisfied.

If I'd like to see anything from this, I'd like to see a little more of the interview, before Bites decides to completely lose his head and go for the interviewer.

Not bad

This piece is full of potential and some of the parts, I'd love to see you take further - you just need some sort of impetus to push on with these things. If you could find a writer to come up with some good scripts for you, then this would probably give you the drive you need to take this forward.

When the piece got around to 'Warcows' (I'd personally have called it Cows of War, but there you go), I'd have stopped the music, as that made the piece a little busy, with the sound effects of the gunfire and the music clashing. The other piece of musical editing would have been to stop the music when the flash finishes.

I'm looking forward to seeing how some of your pieces work out - I'd love to see the experimental cow get some more airtime, as this was the best part of the piece in my opinion.

Imacow responds:

Thanks, I was a little concerned about the gunshots and the music clashing. It was originally so loud that you couldn't hear the song. I lowed it and I thought it sounded much better.

Cows of War is probably a better name if I ever get around to finishing/remaking it.

I'll be sure to look into finishing the experimental part in the future.

Good delivery

Well, the delivery was the best part of this piece, by far. The animation looked decent, but the problem with that was most certainly the limbs, as they looked quite disjointed.

The background and the actual drawing style, I can't really fault, as you've given us a good looking piece in that regard, although some more work with your techniques will certainly pay dividends.

Thank you very much for the review :D

I will try to improve my limb animations, the more I animate the more I learn.
hopefully my next piece will have better art and animation

Too Short

Okay, so you've proven that you're reasonably capable of animating blood splatters and can show a few bits of physics for where debris from a gunshot will fall.

I think that you need some plotline - if you made it similar to a madness flash, i.e. you put loads of additional combatants in there against your guy, this will ultimately become much more rewarding as a flash.

With the way that the guy takes his time, I like the clinical finish, though taking his time to shoot someone might be something that can be explained before the shots are fired, so there's another idea for the plotline - the set up.

It's got areas to improve, but it will take some time to see where this will lead, which I will look forward to.

Great punchline

A nice movie, I have to say. Possibly could have done with visual effects to add to what the Pretenders themselves were trying to put across as their imaginations.

"They say that before you die, your life flashes before your eyes." Yes, I know. It's called living.

Still, that aside, you've given a production that at times, I did sadly found a little boring. The plot that you started with worked well, but when it was going through the motions, there seemed to be large parts when all you all you got was minimalist action and just the narrator, which I found a little too monotone in his delivery. Sorry.

The jokes were delivered well and the dead pan acting skills were plain for all to see - how many takes did you guys need not to burst out laughing?

Fro responds:

Towards the whole laughing comment..

I believe we didn't laugh at this while we were making it at all. We didn't laugh until it was all put together and we watched it.

Recently though we shot Beneath the Sheets 2 (You may remember the first one) and we couldn't stop laughing during many of the scenes. Just laughed so hard that we had to shoot some scene 4 or 5 times in a row so we could do them.

Thanks for the review! Hope to see you reviewing Beneath the Sheets 2.

An interesting take

Calm, collected and a well devised take on the creation of the universe, or at least the immediate aftermath.

A great use of effects like soft-focus, which helps to aid the softness of the tune. I have to say that I think Moonlight Sonata is a wonderful tune for thus, as is the message that you are conveying with it.

The only real issue that I have is that the piece was sadly too short. Something else could have been added to bring the length of the animation up and give us something that at least lasts a little more of this great tune.

Assios responds:

Thank you :)

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
