Not bad

Good plot, well developed (but slightly too short) fight scenes and a good degree of mystery, setting the piece up for the next episode.

I think that this is a nice piece that certainly a good showcase at how you are with manipulating sprites, but that woman had truly massive thighs - is that really necessary? Probably not your decision, but just an observation I thought I'd share.

When you come to the end of the piece, the fade to a complete black screen needs to be addressed urgently - some sort of credits, or a replay button tend to be the favourite options of choice for flash, to be honest. Perhaps you can experiment with that, or just loop it, which I would think is a bit of a cop-out.

Still, a nice piece, that shows off your skills - the addition of voice acting would be a nice touch, but not entirely necessary, since the subtitles worked, despite them jumping around the screen a lot - personally, I would have preferred a bar at the base of the screen, so the reader doesn't have to concentrate too much to enjoy the piece.

Thank you, I must admit she does have very large thighs but I believe thats the pants that she is wearing, I wanted to release this as soon as possible so thats why i didnt put any voice acting in it, but I may return back to that formula...for my next episode! Thanks for the review!

About normal

A smooth animation about the follies of the humble Chemistry Professor. I'm sure there will be Canadian robots in the future as well - it's inevitable :P

I can see why Professor Hobsquabble took a career in Chemistry now - will he be making more appearances in future episodes of Tywo at Large? I can certainly imagine how he will get on famously with Tywo and the gang.

I think that this piece lacked the certain panache that can accompany most Chemistry teachers - there were no practical experiments set up, showing how much fun teaching Chemistry can be, as we all know that hazardous chemicals can be fun, as can power tools, both of which I have found in a Chemistry lab over my school career.

Thanks, I'm not sure if I'm going to bring him back again, this was sort of a spur of the moment, "crap I have do another project" movie. :P I didn't really spend enough time this time thinking my idea up since I was on an insanely tight schedule but I did squander a lot of what I could have done in this movie. Thanks for reviewing though. :)

Needs a lot of work

Well, at least make the characters dance, rather than having a bad motion sequence, where it's a still image of the characters and you're moving part of the image, so that there is a (poor) illusion that they are still moving.

I'm sure that you're actually capable of producing reasonable quality animations and with practice and effort, you will improve your abilities. If the computer is going to freeze up on you a lot, I'd suggest that you speak to the Computer Hospital thread and get that issue fixed. If that doesn't work, set a timer at your side for every 2 minutes, to save your work, which should stop you from getting so frustrated.

Finally, you need to work on making a flash that has a decent plot line, rather than this carmelldansen crap that we keep hearing. A good story line will help people notice your work and take you seriously as both an animator and a writer, so have a go.

Computer hospital huh? Maybe I'll give it a try. Thanks for the review though!

Early work

It's good to see how your work has progressed since these early beginnings. You've clearly got the early work for Jimtopia sorted out and then the basic motions and tweens (?) set up ready to work.

Now the addition of a plotline was what was really required and this, while having a touch of a random fight about it, made a few good steps toward achieving that goal, when you brought out a few later pieces.

I'm encouraged by the fact that the animation style has, in essence, remained the same over the past few years, with just the occasional few tweaks, to make the animation look more sophisticated. This gradual shift is one of the major features of your animation that makes your style so instantly recognisable, even after so long.

Jimtopia responds:

Well thanks for the review man, I'm glad that I have a recognizable animation style.

Nice work

A lovely combination of suspense and subliminal messaging thrown in for good measure in this piece. I think that you've certainly managed to take this piece to a lot of good places and have shown that a good sound track is a great starting place. Where does your audio come from? I'd love to see you use Audio Credits on the movie info, to the left, but that can come along at any time.

Nicely laid out, especially the out-of-focus backgrounds that you've drawn. These show an astonishing attention to detail , considering that you can't quite make out what the background is, but it works nicely, especially with the slow movements in the foreground.

When the dynamic changed, once Ice started talking, I feel that you lost a little part of the cinematic prowess, but if that's how you need to advance the plot, it's a necessary evil, I suppose.

cris17 responds:

um im not sure about the subliminal messaging but thanks lol? if you mean the flash backs kat has as she stares at her nemisis thennn you should watch the other parts so ya know whats really going on lol:D cause that isnt subliminal....atleast i dont think so.....then again i could be wrong.

Neat job

I think this could only be made better if you actually added images of the real Krinkels, dressed up as a heavy in the credits somewhere, or as an Easter Egg.

Great animation, wonderful concept, as per my review of the collaboration, but this piece is certainly one of the best, if not the best of the whole effort. A shame that it was playing up in the collab, so some people couldn't appreciate the work in true context.

Still, awesome stuff and it's only a shame that you couldn't throw in something extra for this stand alone piece, rather than just the credits and the replay option, rather than it being looped...

Wait, what?

Awesome flash, exposing the bloated underbelly of stealing and impostering of peoples on such massive internet communities as Newgrounds.

I love the animations here - particularly Luis's and Paranoia's. The irony of ripping of someone else's flash was truly great, plus Luis has always bee a quality animator, who would always give the correct credit to any people he 'borrows' from.

A great little romp, although I wish that you guys had collabed on the plot and gone from one to another, spelling out the entire plot of the flash. Still, that's just me, so maybe there would be others like me who would work that way. However, with that method, you would lose my two favourite parts, so it's give and take.

Keep up the good work, fellas!

Hmm, not bad

The generic Legend of Zelda flash returns. We see so many of these and everyone seems to make a similar mistake - please put a play button on the speech, as it can really slow down the flow of the flash, when you've read the text screen and then you have to wait for it to disappear before continuing with the movie.

Perhaps you could also locate these subtitles on a subtitle bar - especially when Link (Sorry, generic hero figure #1) was walking through one of the rooms, a lot of the scenery was obscured by the black box for the subtitles.

A lack of plotline, I'm afraid did detract from the whole production, but other than that, there were the occasional sparks of good work that we've seen from you before. Is this project abandoned, or will you give us episode 2 at some point?

Fro responds:

Sorry abou tthe the speech, but it's going to stay the same. I can't take the time to learn actionscript no matter how simple it is. I can't find time to deposit for my newgrounds account most of the time.

I like the idea of a subtitle bar though. That will be implemented in any future work instead of having the text in the middle of the screen. I have two projects right now where the text is the same, but from now on it's going on the bottom in a subtitle thing.

This is actually going to be a series full of plot and plot twists as soon as I find the time in my everyday life to continue it. The name will actually be quite ironic because by the time the series is over it wont be so generic. That was the point of the name. :P

Thanks for the review. Always welcomed and appreciated.

Another triumph

Yet more great work from Weebl and Wonchop. Words fail me to describe just how funny this episode has been, but suffice to say, it has left previous episodes of Cat Face quite some way behind.

I think that the piece as a whole could be improved upon by having a few extra characters in there, even if they don't have speaking parts, then just to walk past in the background.

I love the childish pastels of the background - it looks so simple and so innocent, while putting forth a greatly detailed stage for Cat Face to ply his trade... speaking of which, does he actually have a job of some description? Perhaps I see a new episode idea forming in your brains there, chaps.

Fucking Genius

That's a very literal interpretation of some innuendo from the porn industry. It basically sums up the requirement for all porn movies to be regulated to remove such problematic innuendo from them.

Kudos to getting commissioned by Playboy for this. I really do wonder what Heff would make of it, if ever he saw something like this gracing his web pages.

Great animation, as always although I would say tat you need to find mre women for a greater range of female voices available to you - that's the one downfall here.

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
