Well, it's prone to abuse

Basically, you can't see the score when a movie is under judgement, because people who want to get blam or protect points would come along towards the end of judgement and pick off 'easy' points, because a submission was about to be blammed or protected.

Similarly, with reviews, this is something done to prevent abuse of the system. If you're going to make a submission that's good enough to pass judgement, waiting a few minutes longer isn't that hard.

Regarding the voice acting, why not set up a news post about your voice acting, providing links to your showcases and then create a link to that news post on your forum signature - that way people can see that you voice act whenever you go in the forums.

Finally, the animation is poor on this piece - you didn't even try to get the lip sync aligned properly - you just wanted to rant.

Fair enough.

Nice little collab

What a nice little uplifting piece - a happy-go-lucky piece of music with some pretty good sprite animations to go with it.

Special congratulations to TheShyGuy, who looks like he was the one to make the mini-game at the start. If it's not you, I apologise, but still, a very good piece of work, to keep the masses entertained for only a few seconds while this immense loading time for a 1.5 meg file to load :P

Interesting interpretation of how clouds are associated with rocket bikes that fire missiles at flying homes, still, I can't complain that loudly, it's all just a bit of fun.

What else have you all got planned for future release?

Elroy responds:

As far as the future goes, Im going to try to improve my own pixel art, and possibly do a short solo project.

A little basic

Similar to to DANCE!, this is a little on the basic side, though it appears that some of you guys need to work on walking cycles - especially the guy who did the fey character who didn't move the upper body at all and only moved the legs. It's not natural at all.

Some quirky characters there and it brought a smile to my face to see that someone had tried to do a Moonwalk. Brought a smile to my face after a tough day yesterday :)

It would be interesting to see how you could integrate these styles into your own animations, but I will look forward to seeing how they look when you're done.

Alright, thanks for your time :)

A little basic

I think that this showed the potential of being so much more - there are some good animators in there, but you guys really need to take it further by making a more committed collab - something with more depth and plotline, rather than a quick little short of some characters dancing.

Great for practice, not so great as a finished piece, unless you're combining those dances on the same dance floor as part of something going on in a club for a movie or a game, for example.

If you cna get a plot sorted out, I think you guys can go far, so try to work something out, it will certainly be worth your while.

Thanks :)

Not bad

I like the way that you've re-used the chorus animation. I't a cheat, but one that's perfectly legitimate, to be honest.

There are a few bits which lack 'finesse' at the moment, but I'm sure that they will come with time, for example, the car crash wasn't really much of a crash, it was two images of cars moving past one another - there was no crumpling of the bumpers from the impact, not any flying debris. I know you did do some sort of comic-book style crash, where there's a big impact star when it happens, but it didn't work for me, especially when I see how good the rest of the animation was.

Still, not a bad tune, a nice interpretation of it all and well translated to music video.

Thanks for the review!

Short, and slightly tasteless

Well, it's decent animation that's been cobbled together quite quickly for a few decent, but slightly cheap laughs. As you can probably guess, I'm a Michael Jackson fan, but not one of these lunatics who went to the hospital and bawled their eyes out impotently.

Good animation, a great predatory look from Jackson with the Angles (perhaps they should have been cherubim?) as some angels are far too mature for MJ :P

Pretty concise

I think that the jokes are pretty well thought out (or at least better than the games was :P) but you could have used some better recording equipment to sort out the sound issues - it was too quiet and a little muffled in parts.

I think that the drawing was a little rough around the edges and could be refined a little - try zooming in when you're drawing , to give yourself a greater degree of control over the cursor, so when you zoom back out, it looks a lot smoother.

The first normal review :)
As Ive said a few times the animation and drawing side of it was ment to look crappy :D
but still it could of looked better but oh well :D

Awesome

What a great little piece that you've produced. A nice way to introduce a new character in Fizz and stand firmly towards the new direction of your excellent looking animations.

I hope to see a prequel to this, detailing exactly how Fizz gained his powers over various soft drinks and the other powers he gains from drinking them. Good work by the voice acting guys and overall a very nice production. I can't wait for episode two.

A good bit of Chemistry as well towards the end, complete with the voice acting blooper from FatKidWitAJetPak - you've really gone out there to create some more of your "collector's edition" style works here.

Does this mean less time for Jim & Pals, or does this mean even more quality work from you?

Jimtopia responds:

It's funny you should mention a prequel, because that exactly what I was thinking for episode 2. Also, I hope to keep both Jim and Pals, and Fizz going for as long as possible.

Sadly, I can believe it

What a sad, sad tale. I think that I can actually believe this is a true story of this boy. I'm not sure about the dad not telling his son that his mother died, but there you go, there's bound to be a little to make this story slightly unbelievable :P

Good animation - it's nice to see how you've come a way from the first one, where you've actually got the guy he's telling the story to to do something, plus ambient things like the smoke from the cigarette are nice touches.

It's strange to think that you've managed to come up with four of these bizarre stories. I am filled with a sense of foreboding anticipation over what you will be able to produce for OWIWAK5

Best left unsaid

Well, it's a little short, but pretty nicely animated and I have to say that the imagery of the balls could have been worse - they could have had pubes and loads more wrinkles. Maybe that's just reading into the subject of 'balls' a little too much.

Still, it's a good gag and the whole set up was pretty decent. Perhaps the guy who was being told the story could do a few other bits and pieces - I've never seen anyone sit completely still in those sorts of situations before, so throw things in like some smoke on the cigarette, perhaps have the guy take a swig of his beer and maybe even do something with the game of cards that it looked like they were playing... In fact, were they playing cards? If not, that's always something for them to have been doing.

Try drawing it out a little longer, so that when the punchline hits, you get a better laugh.

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
