Reminds me of Kill Bill

This jsut sounds like the sort of tune that could have been played when Kiddo met with Esteban Verheja (sp?) in Mexico. There is a sort of tension to the whole situation, but through it all, there is also a tragic love in there as well.

The guitar is really well played (Self played, or computer program?) and it conjures up real deep emotions in me, when I hear it. I think I need to hear more of your tunes, to truly understand your thinking, but I've got a few ideas ;)

It loops well, which is a very nice bonus.

Not Bad

And I mean this in every inch the Bill & Ted fashion. Good stuff to listen to, with a driving beat, a great melody and counter melody to push the song on and perpetuate through to wherever the listener is.

I would say that you need to shave about 2 or 3 seconds off the end, as the pause is too long for it to loop properly, but if you're only losing 3 seconds of silence, what have you really lost?

I'd have considered a slightly different variation at the second 'verse' but other than that, there really isn't much that I'd be changing.

Sp1r1T responds:

:) Well, I can't do much about the ending. FL Studio drags the end on if you use fx to finish, and then newgrounds adds a whole load of silence. Ive tried trimming i but nothing happens :P

Yeah, the 2nd verse is just the same as the 1st but with a choir :D

Thanks :)

Well worked

This remix has got a nice layout to it. You've added a nice beat to the piano track, but there are two things I would change - make the piano longer and add more too it for one, it's such a nice piece of paino, why wouldn't you want to extend it?!

The other is just to tone the bass down just a little, as it's a little too powerful for my liking, when compared to the softness of the piano.

Assios responds:

Thanks for the review! :D

Nice, but...

I think that you've hit the nail on the head with your own notes - "Sorry it doesn't loop that well". If you could fix that, you'd have a great chill loop that could be used for many cameos, such as a funky bar in something along the lines of Frank's Adventure, for example.

I think that you've got talent, so come up with more loops, but if they loop properly, you'll be on to a winner, no matter what :)

Flash-MX responds:

Haha yea, I put that in because I kept hearing it over and over and it just didn't loop like I had wanted it to :(

Even though I have been making several loops recently, I am going to continue with most of them and create full songs with them, for example my Soft Jazz 101 piece is now about 2 mins long,
Thanks for the review and I'll have more coming out, so keep checking back :D

Peace

Soothing

A wonderful piece that I can see being used as a background for anything 'space'

The first image that came to mind was Wayne's World, where Wayne and Garth are looking up at the night sky. Enjoying that moment of peace, the calm before the storm.

This piece could quite easily be used as an accompaniment to various games, that are sadly bereft of muisical accompaniment - it's so wide ranging, when you consider that the piece starts off sounding like a calming piece, then it picks up the tempo and runs with it for a little while.

You're releasing an album? Is that going to be through a website like Lulu, only for CDs, rather than books? I'd like to know more about that, so keep us informed, will you?

WritersBlock responds:

Not really an official "album" per se, I'm not making money off it, it's not going on iTunes or any online CD stores, but I'll be posting them all on LastFM as an "album" for free download, for my own personal benefits really. So I can tell my friends, "hey, have you seen my album, you can download it here! BAM! (link)". Also, I think it's a fun little goal to come up with a group of songs I'd consider "album worthy". I've mixed and matched some old songs with some new, started redoing them all from scratch, and this is the first result. I made a blog about the proposed album a while back, so you can check that out if you want. The next song off the album will be a remade Carbon Baby pt 2, except that now it's the only Carbon Baby. I haven't done too much there, I'll probably get to that a little later.

Thanks for the review. I think it's great that the song can conjure up that imagery. I'm glad you liked it. ;D

Something is brewing

This piece says to me that perparation is underway, probably for war, but byu the sound of it on some glorified mission of defence. The troops are gathering their equipment and are heading out to the front, where they will meet glory, either in victory or in death.

A well constructed beat, complimented nicely by the melody. I think that a second part is warranted, to show us how it all panned out.

BreakingFaces responds:

thank you very much

Needs more beat

I think this sounds like a good tune, with decent length and amount of variation, but I think that you should have added a little something to the bass, just to make it thump out a little more.

The tempo changes are good, as are the parts when you blend in the other instruments and fade them out again.

Good work, I look forward to your next piece.

Hey, I'll think about that in my next song :) I'm glad you liked it!

Poignant

A lovely piece of piano that's well composed and played. I only feel sad that my laptop's speakers don't do it justice.

I think that this piece could have stood to be a little longer, with some sort of bridge between the slower part of the track and the fast finish. The Tempo change was good, but I thought it sounded just a little quick in the transition for my liking.

BlazingDragon responds:

C'mon, this is nearly three minutes! (And that is pushing it for me :P)

I wouldn't mind lengthening it out a bit except that I've essentially run out of ideas. Even now I have no ideas to add. Honestly, this is one of the longest transitions I've made. I was surprised when I read your review!

Thank you for the review. I will work on fleshing out my future songs and adding length!

Not bad

Not as good as Enter Flashman, but certainly a good effort. I think that this piece sounds more like a boss fight scene, which could have possibilities for Megaman Flash that are out there in quite high numbers.

I'd possibly consider something that goes one without a beat for a little while, as it sounds a little too samey for me after a short while, which is unfortunate.

KyuubiT responds:

i appricate the honesty in your comment i'll try a bit harder in the future :D thanks alot man

Modern Megaman

I think that you've turned an 8 or 16-bit classic into a modern sounding piece that well and truly deserves to be here. All of the flash artists who make Megaman Flash should seriously consider using this tune as a menu tune at the very least for their stuff.

Loops nicely, giving the impression that you've poured a lot of effort into this piece, which I have no doubt you did.

KyuubiT responds:

i put a fair amount into it but i love doing it. it was fun to give flash man this sound. i love the 80's feel behind it. :) but thats just me. im glad you liked it though and thank you for the words of confidence. i hope one of my songs dose get used! that would be nice!

~KyuubiT~

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
