Nice trubute

I think this could be taken as a nice tribute to the backing tunes that go along with the Madness Combat series. The only problem is that it doesn't have enough bass for my liking, which is a shame, since you've got a lot of the rest of it right, with a fast paced tempo, that would suit the movements and kill speed of Hank, Jesus and the Clown.

Maybe include part of the tune where the bass is the only thing for about 20 seconds, give us the feel of the beat, as the character in the piece would take stock of the situation - how can I kill all of these without breaking a sweat? Sort of thing.

Hehe, the bass seems to still be a bit of a problem with quite a few of my songs lately, I guess I just need to work on it more and try and get something happening out of it.
Cheers, man.

Not a bad sound

This tune has a pretty good lay out, with a nice guitar, bass and drums mix. I'm not entirely sure about the lyrics, but we can always work on small issues like that, as the chorus doesn't seem to fit with the beat quite right - did you write the lyrics first or the tune?

I'd have thought it was easier to rewrite the tune around the chorus, rather than the other way around, so give it a shot.

thanks, but everything's the way it's supposed to be.

Nice work

A good driving beat and a well chosen selection of melodies to accompany the tune itself. I think that you've certainly got something going here that will keep the masses going, though I think they would need a more powerful bass beat to get things bouncing in a club.

Good length and a decent use of variation throughout the tune, despite the fact that the tune practically stays the same, which is some feat.

I really like this review, thank you

Two songs that don't mix

Sorry, this one just doesn't sound right to me - it's as if you've taken two songs and played them over the top of each other. What I'd do is take the main melody, which is the dominant sounding tune and try to run it separately. I couldn't pick out the other one well enough to pass comment on it.

With the first tune, clone it a few times, to increase the length, then go and add a few bits, increasing the length and variation - not everything has to play at the same time for a tune to be varied.

Up beat and funky

This piece certainly didn't sound like it was going to go this way when it started - you've given me quite a nice surprise here. I think that it's a really uplifting little tune, with a great tempo and a well balanced variation.

A shame that it's a little short, but nevertheless, I quite like this piece - give us a better looping and it will sound absolutely awesome.

Great looping

This piece is nice enough, but the way that you've managed to get it to loop so well on top of it is just the icing on the cake.

The start of it sounds like Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield. The accompaniment by the organ / keyboard is very well thought out and played, as it adds another dimension to the whole portrayal. I would stress that unfortunately, it sounds like you've gone for the minimalist approach to variation, which is a real shame, as the result would have been so much better if you'd have added a little something extra to it.

Sweet Harpsichord

This piece has a really nice base piece, with the harpsichord and is accompanied very nicely by the drumbeat that you have chosen to join it.

It's got nice variation and a decent theme for the whole Castlevania theme, which is really impressive. I could see it being used as a menu tune for vartious medevil themed games and movies. Great timing, especially when Castle Crashers has only just been released.

Nice work

A good running beat, with a nice melody encorporated within, this tune seems to me to indicate the launch of something from Earth towards the sky. The sensation of weightlessness, especially when you lose the beat for a few seconds is incredible.

I think that with a little tewaking, this could sound like a soul being accepted, but other than that, you could have called it 'Launch' or something similar. It's a good loop and I enjoyed listening to it.

Yeah good point, I never thought of it like that, but now that you mention it it defenitely does seem like that

Thanks :D

Reminds me of Kill Bill

This jsut sounds like the sort of tune that could have been played when Kiddo met with Esteban Verheja (sp?) in Mexico. There is a sort of tension to the whole situation, but through it all, there is also a tragic love in there as well.

The guitar is really well played (Self played, or computer program?) and it conjures up real deep emotions in me, when I hear it. I think I need to hear more of your tunes, to truly understand your thinking, but I've got a few ideas ;)

It loops well, which is a very nice bonus.

Not Bad

And I mean this in every inch the Bill & Ted fashion. Good stuff to listen to, with a driving beat, a great melody and counter melody to push the song on and perpetuate through to wherever the listener is.

I would say that you need to shave about 2 or 3 seconds off the end, as the pause is too long for it to loop properly, but if you're only losing 3 seconds of silence, what have you really lost?

I'd have considered a slightly different variation at the second 'verse' but other than that, there really isn't much that I'd be changing.

Sp1r1T responds:

:) Well, I can't do much about the ending. FL Studio drags the end on if you use fx to finish, and then newgrounds adds a whole load of silence. Ive tried trimming i but nothing happens :P

Yeah, the 2nd verse is just the same as the 1st but with a choir :D

Thanks :)

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
