A little too abstract

I'm not really a fan of this piece, as it screams to me of not very much effort. I am put in the mind of professional artists that get paid thousands of pounds in order to produce simply awful artworks, such as an untidy bedroom, which they then talked complete bollocks about for some time, while people who 'appreciate fine art' pander to them.

It's not even cloud-style drawings, where you can see different things appearing out of the image itself. I'm sorry to say I can't really see what you're on about with the face..

Hmmm. I see...

Wood & Fire

An interesting blend of two elements that you would not necessarily expect to see together, as this beast looks to have some fire in the belly, ready to smite his foes.

I think that you could certainly use a little work on the tags for your work - I wouldn't make a tag for "The", as relatively few people would search for this to find your work. I'd suggest something along the lines of 'fire', since this seems to be the impression I'm getting for this.

I feel that the piece itself could benefit from a wider portrait shot, showing off more detail in the background, as I'm unsure that you have given the background the attention is so richly deserves.

Wow, detailed

A nicely detailed piece that would have been so much better if it was an actual sculpture, as the title led me to believe. Not to worry though, as it certainly didn't disappoint too much to see this wonderful piece of work.

A nice mosaic styled background overlaid with either a stippled brush effect or a pseudo-Roman style of mosaic tiling. The image of the sculpture tries to look 3D, but isn't quite as apparent as it could be. The 'Goldstone Obsidian' look of the main material of this piece is a nice look, with the amount of 'string detail' in the rest of it.

I can certainly see shapes jumping out of the piece, particularly a ball of yarn to the left of centre and a little grinning imp at the lower right of centre. Good work.

Thanks for this review. It is very accurate.

Good shading

A very menacing image of the clown figure from the Madness series. A great piece of fan art, that really captures the essence of the clown trying to snuff out the light of Hank's painfully staunch resistance.

I think that a couple of issues need to be addressed here - some colour would certainly help, as Madness doesn't use too much in the way of colours - shades of grey and red tend to be the order of the day, with the occasional green and white thrown in there for good measure. I'd love to see the ethereal horns picked out in the characteristic red that they usually use, plus perhaps a little blood dripping off Hank's sword.

The other issue is that the clown in Madness isn't called Tricky - that was a different series, where a clown exposed himself in Clock Crew movies. This one is just called "The Clown".

I think that a more detailed piece showing Hank's face would be called for, as it's a little too cramped into a small area around his goggles, head scarf and all of the other gubbins in there.

Not bad

I think that the piece would have looked so much better if you'd have been able to pan the view out a little so that you can see the arch way in which the creature resides. I think that it's a pretty decent effort and the feathers have been picked out nicely on the wings.

The one issue I have is the fine detail - back on the wings, there is the detail of the background colour between the wing tips that hasn't been completely blended in with the background. Spending just that little extra time on this part will make the final piece look so much better.

Finally, working on the focus of the image is required. There is an element of soft focus in parts of the image, but it's not prevalent across the whole image - hard or soft focus across the whole of the piece, as it would all be viewed at the same distance from the viewer, rather than focusing on a spider's web in the immediate foreground, for example.

I tried to go for a carved/statue type motif. But true, I could have done more with the arch. I'm too lazy to go back and expand, which would also mean I'd have to do paws. I'm scared of doing paws, they come out looking like mutated grapefruits. Angry, mutated grapefruits.
True about the focus, but like I responded above... I'm still a big fan of the blur tool. Real big fan. :)

Thanks a ton for the review and pointing out the stuff, and stuff. Danke.

I'm not sure

So we've got what looks like an overgrown lawn with the added benefit of... I really couldn't make head nor tale of it.

What is it supposed to be? Some sort of light show? I think that I can see a vague outline of Optimus Prime in the lights that have been picked out there, but it's about as good as we'll get from my interpretations.

The black is just a "Goth's White" and needs to be covered where possible - this piece is a vague abstract at best and requires a lot more work to at least convey what you are trying to make in the piece.

Space orange!

This piece just reminds me of a huge interstellar orange - the three curved lines just seem to make me aware of giant segments that could be pulled out and devoured by interstellar beings that like eating rocks.

For me, the structure of this planet is a little too regular. Perhaps pass over it a few more times and add some more mountainous regions and perhaps some craters, for example. This body has been in space for some time and in order for it to look more natural, it will have been peppered with things from the depths of space.

Does it have a liquid surface cover, such as water on Earth? If so, lakes will be visible, plus whole continents should emerge, dependant upon how much liquid coverage there is. Perhaps cloud cover could become a factor as well.

Roses on green leaves

An interesting abstract piece that reminds me of blood splattered across leaves in a wood. The scene of a murder, an accident, or something totally innocent? That remains to be seen.

I think that this metaphor is slightly stretched, as the red does not follow a uniform pattern as it would with blood splatters, which is a shame, as I can certainly see the skeletal structure underneath the leaves. Possibly a shot of some woodland and they could actually be tree branches and trunks, but it's a little difficult to tell.

TiberiumCrystalKutu responds:

My inspiration was not a crime scene.
Thanks!

Good detail

A nice simple colour scheme and some great work with the shading certainly adds a few dynamics to this image that can only be described as abstract. The dust cloud, or sun burst effect in the top right is nice.

Then it's just a question of what you interpret the three lines as - personally, I've seen them as either go-faster stripes on some sort of being or vehicle moving right to left in a very short time, or claws from something much more sinister.

How does everyone else see it? You decide.

Totally awesome review, you interpreted the pic exactly as l wanted you to, l am really surprised that this actually worked...thanks!

Intricate detail

Well, this piece is certainly a large canvas that you've been working on with a plethora of bright colours in a wonderful spray effect. It does kind of resemble a bird's head - something tropical from the jungles of South America, most likely.

The detail once again can only be appreciated by zooming in, but at least you advised the masses this time :P

I love the way that what looks like a crest flares out to the left of the picture, behind the large eye - that's probably what gave me the impression about the bird. How long did it take you to draw something so intricately abstract, yet so detailled enough to bring through flashes of inspiration within the viewer.

Nice review, thanks a lot!

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
