Decent

What this example of your flash skills needs is to be combined with a better meshing of the audio and video. For example, you didn't let go of the fireball on the HA! of KAMEHAMEHA! (sp?)

If the stick put up a bit more of a fight, I'd be more impressed too, but that is quite a difficult flash to make, so I'm not going to penalise you that much.

Are you planning on future uses of these Human vs Animation flash?

wolfinator-x responds:

-Sorry: I only had the .swf and I couldn't change the FPS

-Everyone's been saying that. I'll make a better one.

-Bigtime.

Sprites need a little work...

Around the edges of some of your animations, there are white lines - when you try and cut them out, please try to zoom in and get a cleaner cut. It helps make the flash look more professional. (This was particularly obvious in the final dance scene)

I loved the use of Van Halen's Eruption for the fight scene, it's a wonderful piece of guitar virtuoso. Though this is something you could have linked in the info bar of the submission page.

I look forward to reviewing the rest of your flash now

wolfinator-x responds:

This was my first flash, so some of the sprites looked gay (I didn't know how to trace bitmap, but I had all the other sprites transparent already)

For the music, I did not know who wrote it, so I just let it there without saying who did. (I was 11).

What, no Naked Gun?

Dammit, there was me thinking we'd have a Bahamut does the Naked Gun flash. I am heartbroken.

...

...well, maybe not heartbroken, but as you can plainly see, I am somewhat dissapointed by this. Still, you're telling me that I've got to wait a whole (potentially) 7 more days to see the other 2/3 of a flash movie? *grumbles*

Considering you're now 1/3 of the way to reaching the goal of having the same number of flash submissions on the portal as livecorpse, I'd say congratulations are in order. *opens bottle of miscelaneous booze and drinks self into stupor*

Heh, I'm not much into movies, but I have heard about the ridiculous titles of them, especially the 33â…“ (oh, there's a 1/3 symbol). Also, thanks for the congrats. :)

Headache?

Personally, for a headache like that, I'd prescribe whanging Afro_Stud over the head with a length of hard wood (Pine or Oak works best)

Still, this is a great little flash. Are you actually going on holiday, or are you just hanging around on a desert island, trying to escape from your so-called friends?

I loved the gibberish and I can think of a few interpretations for what you are saying, but it's not presentable here, due to the guidlines for reviews :P

kinggila responds:

"Are you actually going on holiday"

Yes I am, to Cuba on 14th July for 2 weeks. :)

You would've been fine if you typed them down. It wouldn't be abusive, but meh, you've written a legit review now and there's no going back.

Thanks for reviewing. :)

3D was good

I'd say you could do with studying the mechanics of how a trampoline works. I know it may be getting a little technical, but if you understood that better, then maybe the animation would look a little better. Put some springs around the edge - they stretch, not the fabric of the tarpaulin.

When the cow jumps, make more than just his knees bend, as if he's really putting some effort into getting into space. Arms, hips and knees should all be moving. These little touches would make it so much better.

Also, a better sound effect for the trampoline itself and maybe a slightly quieter music track.

Other than that, it'snot going to set the portal ablaze, but it'll certainly be a passable flash animation.

Imacow responds:

Thanks for the review.

The trampoline animation wasn't as realistic as possible. I should of made for limbs moving.

I liked the sound effect =[

The music was a little loud.

A little short, but good

Well, the summary says it all really.

You've given us a good little window of the sort of animation you can produce. Your animations style is good, and so is your drawing ability, which is sometimes lacking in people who are able to animate well.

With the exception of the first death, I quite liked this little showcase - for me, the first death, whcih was horrendously random just doesn't do anything for me. Hell, who am I to complain, you're just here to show us what you can do.

Any plans for future animations?

Ramirezoid responds:

Of course, I'm turning and old comic series of mine into flash. Framestorm II if I ever make a little showcase again.

Great Collab

This is a great piece of work. It doesn't say in the comments, but how long did it take for you guys to come up with this flash? You've done a stellar job on it.

I particularly like the way you married the lyrics to the animation, with the fuses and switches. The Bomb was the best touch of the lot, by the way.

I also liked the fact that you stuck the credits over Movies, which is a great song. Another question springs to mind - have AAF actually made a video for this tune? If not, they should consider using this collab as a music video for it and release this as a single!

[Review Request Club]

itsjms responds:

Lol use it as a single. Thanks for all the good scores and the review. Yes i like people to watch the credits so i try to put another good song on top of it. Thanks for enjoying it XD

Happy Birthday Casualty

I should feel dissapointed that you didn't do me a happy birthday flash. But I'm not going to be so petty... yet

It's a neat way to wish someone a happy birthday though and thank god we didn't have to put up with Graham coming in at any point during this flash.

As always, I'm looking forward to your next submission

Either I make a flash about the people that I have not made a birthday flash for or we wait until next year. Maybe both? :D

"It's a neat way to wish someone a happy birthday though and thank god we didn't have to put up with Graham coming in at any point during this flash."

LOL GRAHAM! He didn't need to be in this flash at all.

"As always, I'm looking forward to your next submission"

I plan to submit 2 flashes next Monday. :) Thanks for reviewing Coop83.

Very Black Comedy

Wow, this is a neat way to portray the war in Stalingrad - sort of like Enemy at the Gates, but without Jude Law's awful acting.

I loved this piece, but it was a little too light on the blood and gore - flashing a red circle up on screen doesn't work for me in showing bloodshed. The corpses which fall to the floor look just the same as when they were alive, so maybe do something about that. Making it suitable for teens is alright, but if you add a little more violence, it's still not going to be as nasty as Madness or Bunnykill.

I'm just after a spot of realism, that's all. We don't want the kids thinking that war's great, because it isn't

[Review Request Club]

Sgt-Mac responds:

I agree with you. This actually started with no blood, and with animation already done, adding bullet wounds would've been pain in the ass.
And by the way, Enemy at the Gates is a great movie.

Decent working of a trailer

No, it doesn't really remind me of the trailer for a hollywood blockbuster. It's not even a patch on a trailer for a straight-to-dvd movie, but it is certainly a decent parody of it.

The graphics look a little rough around the edges for me. What you really need is just a single line, not about three for the edges of the people.

If you combined that with standing a little further away from the microphone when you recorded, you might just be on to a winning formula here.

Good start though.

[Review Request Club]

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
