Jackass!

Well, that was an amazingly short episode. A bit of homage to Jackass' "rocket skates" stunt they pulled a few years back.

No time to think about what the punchline could be, this is all about the delivery, which was exectued expertly.

Obviously, as you know I prefer to see longer animations which actually build up to the monumental punchline, but this worked just fine.

How long do we have to wait for the next episode?

Jimtopia responds:

Glad you enjoyed it, yeah, the point of this cartoon was to be short and funny, that's about it. My longer cartoons are the ones with storylines and whatnot. Anyway, thanks for reviewing, I should have some bigger stuff coming out soon.

Surprisingly good.

I admit it, I did laugh at the burkas joke. Once again, your animations skills have improved, although this time, you've been let down by the audio - the voice artist is a little close to the mic - sometimes the voices are a lot more quiet than the sound effects, which punch holes in my ear drums since I've turned up the volume to hear the speech.

Still, this is a series which has potential - it could go both ways, so what you need to sort out is the sound and you're really going places. This pays nice homage to your comic book roots, which I love.

Fear of the Dark <3

A wonderfully worked happy birthday episode from Bahamut Studios, The Wirral (see, I remember these things ;) )

I loved the cover of Fear of the Dark, not quite as good a reception as Iron Maiden got while live in Dortmund, but a good rendition nonetheless.

As always, I'm looking forward to the next episode from your ever expanding collection.

Will you be responding to this, as I have no real question of substance to ask you today?

kinggila responds:

Haha, the Bahamut Studios, Wirral. It's funny, because I have thought of my working on flashes as a pretend studio. :)

"Will you be responding to this"

I never ever leave a review written for my flashes unresponded. :D Thanks for reviewing this, Coop83.

A well worked collab.

How many flash authors did you manage to get together for this piece? Considering the song is only about 3 minutes, it's taken a hell of a lot of you to get the job done, judging by all of the different names that flashed up all over the animations.

It's a great tune and the animation for it is overall excellent. There are a few bits I didn't like, but that's only because they aren't to my preferences. The one thing I didn't like about it was how the animation kept changing - there wasn't really a plotline for the whole song, which is a shame.

Still, you've done a good job here and I look forward to seeing more of your animations and possibly future collabs. Are there any plans for any of those at some point?

Still some rough edges

Ok, this is a decent extrapolation of what happened after Pico's School (I think that was what it was called). The problems arise whenever someone talks, as the Lip-Sync is awful, the mouths move and occasionally they are lined up with the words, but it's a total crap shoot.

Although it was a little late for a Pico Day submission, it was still quite good. I disliked the preloader, as the file you used didn't seem to tie the loading bar up to the actual amount loaded.

That and the ending really sucked, because you wanted to submit it really quick, so you censored Tom and Pico to save time. Lets be honest here, when did you start this flash project up? Are you planning making another episode of this for Pico Day 2008? If so, start planning now and by the time iut's here, you'll be ready ;)

xthesnarfx responds:

Frist it was a mouth loop so thats why. And I started this a week before it was due so I really had to rush to get this done.

Sound saves the day

Well, the animation is clearly rushed here. (We've been telling people about Pico Day for months, why were you not ready?!) I like the way you took the menu music from Queers of War, it did almost suit it.

When the bandit and Sr. Pico walk towards each other, half of Pico's face keep dissapearing, so that glitch needs fixing. I couldn't read what you had written after the flash, as it was drawn too badly. Maybe use the typeface instead.

Imacow responds:

Thanks, the bandit was suposed to be the enemy from Pico School (forgot his name). I tried to start on a Pico Day flash 2 months ago but realised how gay it was going to turn out so I deleted it. Then atthe last minute realised I should try and make one. The music is from the game Excitebike on the NES.

Yea I was aware that his face dissapeared I'll fix it in a little while.

Happy Pico Day!

What a (randomly) great piece of flash work this is. I never expected a plot like this for a Pico day flash, or any toher for that matter.

The graphics are excellent, with an amazing fight against Satan, which is a great demopnstration of how cutting edge this production is!

The humor is not to be outdone with "Pico does Pirates of the Carribean" a well worked, horribly gory piece with a lovely killer punchline (literally) at the bitter end.

Of course, the ending has a great twist, which doesn't stop the whole piece being absoultely brilliant. I'm looking forward to more flash from the both of you!

Thanks, Coop, for the review and the appreciation!

New twist - old theme

Personally, I hate anything from these shitty little fads, like Sunshine crew, as they are appaling to watch for the most part.

You've found / made a nice piece of audio here, which really gives you the originality part of your work.

For me, the background was too dark - you could have made it yellow / orange, like the NG banner, which would have worked a lot better, but other than that, there isn't really much I'd change.

[Review Request Club]

Seamonky responds:

The audio is awesome, I agree with that. I had to change the song because the sunshine song did get quite repetitive. The background was ok but you got your own opinion so I respect that. Thanks for the review Coop and here's your response! :D

Lock those whores up!

A nice take on a way to come up with a flash - make the audio first, then animate to go with it.

I'm not a fan of stick-esque figures, but these seem to work. I like the facial expressions with only the eyes.

It's really short, which is what I dislike. You could make this a fair bit longer, adding further points about other things - go on a bit of a ramble and flesh the whole thing sout a bit

Sounds bad... looks alright

You've got the beginnings of a great flash here. Firstly, I couldn't stand the audio. Not because it was a foreign song, but it took me half of the song to work out that it was foreign.

The animation is decent, although it does look ill-conceived and drawn with MS Paint. If you did draw this in flash, you really need to invest in a tablet, zoom in closer and take more time to draw, so you can give us a more detailed picture.

This does have a plot, which is nice, one of the redeeming points of your work. You've come through Star Day and have a decent scoring flash to show for it. Good work.

Ying-yong responds:

i don't see how the fact you couldn't understand it was foreign influenced your score but ok

thanks for the review

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
