New Conscience?

Well, this is a great episode. I've always been a fan of Blockhead and all of the simple protection points and review responses that come along with it :)

Wow, it looks like you've upgraded the graphics of the whole shabang, including what looks like a new illustration of the conscience. Looks awesome.

The plot is as off the wall as ever, still delivering us the laughs and unpredictable turns every second. It's an amazing roller coaster where we truly don't know what's coming next.

As always, I look forward to the next episode with baited breath!

The-Swain responds:

I am hoping that the next episodes will follow more of a story arc.

What?! A story arc?! Uh oh, Blockhead may have a plotline coming :(

Glad you enjoyed :)

Short and 'sweet'

Well, that's certainly an interesting submission. Where did Bitey's Head end up?

Still, the graphics were good and reminiscent of a low quality Bitey animation - something which I was impressed with and I'd be intrigued to find out the opinion of Adam Phillips.

How long do we have to wait for the next instalments to be introduced to us?

[Review Request Club]

RSQViper responds:

Bitey's head sticks around for exactly 2 frames when he gets hit. It hets knocked clear off by the truck and far, far off-screen.

And my graphics are far, far better than Adam Phillips' graphics... NOT! But, hey. I did what I could, yes? =p

This also isn't something that is going to be in installments. This was just a trailer and an actual part of a longer (around 8 minute) movie coming out in the estimated late July time frame. Check out the Alpha link on the truck to see some more clips, pics and a writeup on the feature-length Flash.

Thanks for the review!

Highly Immature

Okay, so you've shown us in this flash that you are capable of marrying the audio and video aspects, and decent animation of the movement of a still picture.

I'm willing to believe that you are capable of much more, as you've got the tools for the job at hand, for example you've got access to a mic. Given a chance, I'd like to see every single one of you produce a flash on your own, just to prove that you can.

It makes me feel sad that people like you have the talent and don't use it. Such a cruel waste.

A decent twist

I like how this isn't actually based in the courtroom - makes a nice change from the norm. Are these all still shots from the original game, or have you added the people sprites to the backgrounds from other things?

You've done a good job here and the lip-sync is great, as it should be in a flash of this quality.

Are you going to come back with any other Phoenix Wrong style flash, or are you going to try your hand at something else?

Zachary responds:

thanks for the review:D also this was my first time EVER using sprites, i was pretty pleased with the results like i said, ty for review, also those sprites are all from PW

It could be better

But I've already left a review for the sequel of this one. Basically, the animation is too angular for my liking, so if you spend more time trying to draw the pictures, it will be worth it, as the animation will look many times better.

The music was decent, which brightened up the whole piece. Now you need to improve the voices and then it'll start to take shape properly.

George Bush does James Bond?!

For me, that's a concept that I find quite bizzare. I don't think it will work, because the one is a smartly dressed prick who thinks he's good with women and the other one is James Bond.

Still, the animation needs work, with everything being far too angular. The voices sucked, so if you can't do them yourself, why not explore the BBS and find yourself a voice artist, who can do decent impressions for a more rounded finish.

You try too hard

Personally, I don't see the draw of animating poorly if you can do a better job of it. I could understand doing part of an animation that way to empathise a point, for example, but for the whole flash? That's going to make a lot of people think that you just put the disclaimer in to convince people not to laugh at your lack of talent.

Still, the jury is still out on that one.

It's Michael Jackson jokes, which although this flash is reasonably old, doesn't mean it hasn't been done before. Topical jokes age, sadly, which is probably what can also be said about this one, even though it's only about 6 months since the flash was made. I think you need to jump on the bandwagon quicker if you want a better reaction.

What more can I say, but use your talents and produce a decent collab flash work.

kirbynator responds:

This was my first flash. Sorry. Wolfinator-x is thinking of doing a remake with good graphics.

BTW, these graphics were actually also made on purpose to look stupid AND funny (a bit like Jerry Jackson)

Getting better

This is a better example of what you can do with your video / flash mixing skills. Personally, I thought it worked quite well, especially the punch on the camera lens.

Be careful when you 'shoot' the camera, as bullets would completely fuck up the camera, not just leave black holes on the lens (I know poetic license is a big help here, but you know what I'm getting at, don't you?)

The other thing is your aim. When you pulled out the gun and started shooting, by all means, move the fly out of shot, so that you can get everything sorted for the angles of where you are shooting. Plus, it's much funnier if the fly comes back into shot after.

Finally, I'd like to say that I think the fly sound was nothing like I was expecting a fly to sound like, but well, it all depends upon where you get the sound files from, doesn't it?

Reply to comment 1: Thanks! It's pretty easy and pretty fun to do.

Comment 2: I know, but the camera wouldn't be able to tape anyway (Maybe it was a BB Gun ;p.

Comment 3: It was made on purpose for the shot to looked phucked up.

Comment 4: All the sounds (and I mean all of them) were mouth-made.

Overall this was for a collab, only the collab died after about the 6th post.

Too short by far

Something like this really needs to be worked on as a longer flash. Maybe take a break between the different outfits and actually bring in something like a big pencil to draw them on you, for example.

I do appreciate that you're decent at doing this, but for the sake of anything you hold holy, don't let your talents be held back - make a bigger statement, saying "Look at me, I can amimate this well!" A longer piece will allow you to show off a lot more. This is also another practise issue, as the more you do, the better you'll become.

wolfinator-x responds:

Sorry 'bout that the flash is too short. I had a better one about my hand beating up a stickman putting up a good fight before but I did not have time to publish it and I lost it when I changed my computer.

A few changes I'd make, but good

Well, this is a decent little flash. There are a few simple points I'd like to make about this flash before I go any further:

- The margin (red line) of a page should slide off to the left of screen when your character walks to the right.
- When recording sound, play it back to yourself and if there's too much static (making a sound like you're talking through a sheet of paper), put the mic further from your mouth when you record.

Those two problems are very simple things to fix and when you do, this flash is looking at being one of your best yet. Considering the file size is so small, you can make this into a great product within a very short amount of time, I'd wager

wolfinator-x responds:

-The margin was a mistake I realized only the last time I watched this movie before responding.

-When I did this flash, I had a crappy microphone

-I think this could get popular too. I even started to animate episode 2.

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
