Eastern Promise of Latin

So this has qualities of some sort of Middle-Eastern / Arabic sound, then it blends nicely into the Latin. A massive contrast of cultures, with the way that the Latinos are highly expressive and sexual with their dances and those cultures from the Middle East and Arabic nations are not that way inclined.

I think that the slow part wasn't really needed - you could speed it up a little, without leaving all of the pauses in there and it would blend more seamlessly into the faster paced Latin part of the track.

Certainly something I'd like to see people do is interpret this, as seeing how they work the dance out could be fantastic. Plus it will give you the recognition that you richly deserve for this piece in particular.

Actually, the reason why I put this under latin is that I feel the latin section actually refers to the whole folklore kind of music, and most certainly didn't come from lack of conciousness of the cultural differences that apply for each one...

The second part is actually also Arabic folklore, even if the can be similarities between them. The nomadic people of Middle-East are actually the ancestors of the common-known Gypsies, Roms, and such, making it a much more festive kind of music.

As for the interpretion part, well let's just say I didn't go to College in Composition just for the kicks... I'm planing on interpreting quite a few of my songs beginning next semester, and I already recorded one of my arrangements of Blue Rondo à la Turk, wich will be posted ASAP.

Synth Latin

The thing that I'd say that this track really needs is some sharp horns in there, to give it a crisp contrast and really sharpen it up for some of the moves that the dancers can make to this piece. I'd consider throwing in a complete pause, where a singer might yell "HEY!" or something similar, to add to the way that this tune builds itself.

When you get into a rhythm and start progressing with the tune, I was going great until that winding down outro, that kind of went against the grain of the piece, as I felt it. If you had the two note ending, without the way that the tune seemed to run out of power.

Yes, it could stand to be a little longer and lyrics would give it more of a feel of something along the lines of "Copa Cabana", but you've done a good job.

The brass you speak of will indeed probably be added once I extend the song. I kind of wanted it to have a cool feeling, whatnot somekind of lounge music, therefor the ending kind of fits.
If I'm going to extend it though, I probably wont keep it at that.

I'd absolutely love putting some lyrics on my songs, but I'm using a notation software, and not something like FL Studio or other things, and therefor can't add tracks over.

I'll do my best to make it better next time!

LOTR meets Avatar

Another masterpiece, from the desk of EagleGuard. Nice work, as always, highlighted in the sounds of the horns, and strings that remind me so much of the Riddermark and Rohan in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings films, while also having something even more natural and almost reverent to it.

Enter the choir and the feeling that I get about serene vistas, composed of far more complex compounds than occur on Earth, save for within the minds of people like James Cameron.

A wonderful blend is provided and this stunning dream comes to the forefront of my mind. How I can see this being used is primarily as a menu tune, but the ambience that it creates leads to a more versatile tune than just ambient. You and artists willing to try could take this further for their own projects.

Interesting sounds

This almost sounds video game to my ears. The way that you set it up, it does have the speed quality of some sort of almost Metal Slug kind of time trial piece, where you've got to rush, or someone's going to get killed.

It's kind of a shame that it doesn't loop all that well - the way that it got the emotions going was a nice end to my day and through all of that, we've ended up with a good sound, that you can use for the competition entry and not only that, you can hopefully get it added to certain flash productions, when people hear this, I'm sure an artist out there will find a use for it.

Yeah, I have to agree that there seems to be an issue with trying to get the backing vocals to fit with your voice - try asking for assistance from the voice actors on the Audio Forum and see where you go from there? Raw songs, without backing vocals would help, so that the artists can give you their versions and you can edit as you see fit.

I think that it's a decent track, but it needs some work - possibly a little more in the way of the guitar? Have you got any bass in there at all, because that could be what you're missing and it does make such a big difference to the sound of the track.

Can you please print the lyrics on the comments next time, as I can't understand them. If I could sing along, I might be able to feel a closer affinity with the track.

[The Music Box: Rest In Peace]

Music box

This sounds like the sort of piece that I would immediately associate with that of a child's music box - the sort that is intricately carved or inlaid with precious metals. As you lift the lid, this piece begins and perhaps a little dancer stands up, starting to turn on the spot.

A lovely little tune, very calm and soothing, just as the sort of tunes that would be used in said boxes, but with a little more depth - you're not just playing this tune on a set of metal teeth that get flicked by a rotating drum, you have added more sound effects and the subtlety that they have been done with is fantastic.

Highly suitable for a high fantasy game or flash, you would be able to have this represent a great many things on the ambient scale, such as an icy cave, with the sounds being synonymous with the icicles dangling from the ceiling. I personally love this track and every time it plays through, I get a little more attached to it.

[The Sad Violin]

A little quiet

Perhaps it is me, but I think that the violin is a little quiet here - messing with the record settings will help you out, if you're trying to get that right. As with that, the acoustics of the room where you are recording probably didn't help - something to bear in mind for next time.

Slow, mournful and a little boring towards the end, I would have said that this needed something else - some backing, possibly from additional strings, or even a piano, organ or percussion accompaniment. If I were to hazard a guess at the accompaniment in percussion, I would suggest the low rumble of the Kettle Drums, which would really add something to the piece.

Simnple, but effective

A nice loop, that goes to show just how much detail a song can sound like it has with a few simple loops thrown in there. Adding detail over the top gives variation to the track and it still is kept simple at under a minute and only 1 meg in size means that it is versatile enough for use in quite a few flash productions.

I can see that people wanting Kirby tracks could use this and I hope that they will, so that you can get the credit you deserve.

Perhaps some of the notes within the counter melody weren't quite right, so that they could need changing to become more melodic, towards the end - the one high finish, that you had around 40 seconds. It didn't seem quite right, but that's easily dealt with.

Great looping, keep up the good work!

Great buildup

A great introduction (if a little quiet and slow in the buildup), we're presented with yet another well finished piece that shows your amazing skills in DJing and building tunes up from very little.

Good use of the vocal samples and the instruments at your disposal, though it does see a little short. This is possibly because of the long, quiet introduction, which could be cut a little, leaving more space for the tune itself to take shape and have a little more of the dance beats in the middle.

Another triumphant tune from your repertoire here, Sessile. Keep up the fantastic work!

part of the reason i would say the intro feels a bit long is because of the time signature, things are going to always feel longer with the one im using, and its not one i have worked with very often so i dont know how well i could go about fixing that, i could try a time change in the future

Jazz polka

A very interesting piece, but I feel that it starts off a little too slow - the differential in speeds is just too great. If you start off a little faster there, you would have a much better lead in.

I think that the sound of the accordion is sadly missing from this piece, which would certainly have helped with the way that it progressed. Still, you've got some good sounds around this piece and it really does help to produce a fine sounding track.

Thanks alot! I totally agree with you, it should have started faster, it's just that my friends kept telling me to make it slower...

Anyways, thanks for the great review, I'll be sure to add an accordion if I ever decide to do a jazz polka... I didn't think about it as a polka, but now that you mention it, it's probably the closest thing to what it is!
