Moving

This is such a simply drawn piece, with such an amazing meaning. PianoForte may have put together an awesome track, but you have certainly done it justice in this work.

The emotions that are experienced here are wide ranging and can certainly illustrate a whole life in a matter of minutes. From the birth through the childhood, it was quite happy, but tinged with the sadness of the lack of fatherly bond.

The adulthood was nicely formed, especially the proposition of marriage, which I might have to use should I get into that situation. I'm glad to see that this is the way that people are portrayed as feeling for the death of a loved one. I would have had his wife there to comfort him though, as while he may feel alone, he is not truly alone.

Also, when it came for him to die, was the wife already dead? Wouldn't she be at his bedside when he slipped away?

She was erm... in the hospital, because she had cancer... lol idk

thanks for the review!

Geoffrey!

Man, I wondered what had become of that mascot! I'd have thought that he was selling beer to young adults by now, but no! He's masquerading in some twisted version of a children's game popular the world over...

I'm not entirely sure that the head at the back is a carbon copy, but in black of the Girafarig's front head. Why then, is Hitler's rear head a carbon copy of his own head, and not a baloon with a smiley face drawn on it?

As always, you need animation,as the start is set out reasonably well - better than any of the shite you see in Powerpoint, for example. If only the rest of the flash reflected that.

"There's millions," says Geoffrey, "All under one roof.".

Well...

The best thing about this flash was the Guitar Hero controller. I have no idea where you managed to get the audio file from, but I'd certainly say that you need to aniimate a better tune next time.

The animation was good quality and it had sort of a Metal Gear Awesome style about it, which I really liked. You've got more than just potential, from what I've seen so far from this animation.

I look forward to seeing future projects of yours.

Review # 851

You're damned right that Afro_Stud getting accidentally killed by a vending machine isn't interesting news - there wasn't even an expression of pain, or a blood splatter, for crying out loud! What colour would a pink star bleed, anyway?

Aside from that, it started off a pretty good flash and I was thinking that I'd already seen it before. (A Bahamut flash that I haven't reviewed? The very thought :P)

I was surprised that you didn't try the age old trick of rubbing the coin along the wall or kissing it, to make it stick in the machine. They've worked for me before on the slot machines at the pub ;)

A nice dream, but I was surprised that some of your library of characters didn't make it up to the crowd that was present to watch you receiving your award. I'd certainly have been there to try and mooch off you :P

I think his blood is invisible. o__O

You still need to review Adolf Hitler:CAI493+D SE2 and Everybody Hates News Reporter.

Also, I'll be making a birthday flash for you. :)

Mmm, Cheddar

Yeah, I could just eat some cheddar cheese now, so I'm going to go and raid the fridge.

I think that you could have paid more attention to the colour scheme that Hitler was wearing today - it was barely the same colour, let alone the same shade as the Misdreavus.

I hope this one evolves, as the mischevious face would workl well on one of your .gif evolution of the pokemon.

AfroUnderscoreStud responds:

If you check the icon you'll see that I got the colour right. ;)

The thing is that Pokémon colours tend to be different in various pieces of artwork.

Misdreavus does evolve, but not for another 200 episodes or so. :P

Personal issues?

Were you abused by a snowman as a child? Why do you hate these gentle creatures so much? Just kidding, this is quite a good animation.

I've never really been a fan of Bullshit for my Vallentine, so I can't really comment on the music - I just kept the volume down low and we went from there. A decent music video, that, though the animation doesn't run completely to the end of the song, was well designed and animated.

I would point out that when you sorted out the snowman getting shot by the arrows, you did make one small error - the arrows would probably pass straight through the snowman, but the top arrow would probably cause some sort of tilt, maybe even knocking it over like you suggested - it would fall over quicker, though.

Graeme responds:

The animation wrapped up at that part of the song, because it kinda starts getting quicker paced again. And it seemed after I had it come down for the shootout, then coming back up would be a little out of place.
The falling over snowman is definately not accurate. The arrows would slice straight through, and never knock him over. And if the did, he wouldn't keep his form perfectly. Haha, but that's alright

Nice, but slow...

Okay, so we've got a nice cartoon, which has quite a few Arnie jokes (Let's face it, he's quite easy to rip the piss out of now, isn't he?) It's been presented well, but the main issue that I have is the length of the pauses between dialogue was far too long - no kids would wait that long without interrupting, especially on Halowe'en, considering they're already on a sugar high.

When you panned the camer up Arnie's torso / face, you did it too slowly. I could physically see each line of additional graphics being added on and it would have made the slowest of viewers bored with the mammoth climb. Speeding that up is simple for a large dividend.

The punchline was well delivered - I just thought he was going to shoot them, so you get some plus points for a good well delivered gag there.

Your animation style is decent and your drawing is very good. How long did this take to make?

Lambinvoker responds:

Thanks for your review.
It took me from October 7th - October 30th. I worked on it for about an hour each day.

Short, but evocative

Such a well animated piece. I feel quite deprived to learn that this is one of only two submissions to Newgrounds. However, you may not have quantity, but you certainly do have quality.

The animation itself looks really smooth and the drawings look so nice. I'm seriously running out of words to describe this and I'm not sure I can think of any ways to improve it...

I hope your other flashes echo my sentiments

Lambinvoker responds:

Thanks for the review.
I only have a few submissions to Newgrounds because I have trouble focusing on a single project. As a result I have several projects that are incomplete. Hopefully as more time passes I will be able to finish all of them.

My girlfriend likes the music

But personally, I'm not fussed by the music of this type that you play. I'm looking forward to more rock style tunes that you play - Do they help Hitler catch the pokemon, perchance?

It looks like you've fetched Adolf out of the freezer a little close to air time today, almost worthy of playing Cold Ethyl by Alice Cooper :P Maybe try anti-freeze next time, to help him thaw out quicker.

Have you ever considered actually showing us how Hitler would catch or train the pokemon in question, thus boosting his pokedex by one more pokemon? It would make for such a good flash, after all. I'd have thought that you could consider this during your recent submission ban...

[Review Request Club]

AfroUnderscoreStud responds:

The submissions were flagged simply because the person mass-flagging didn't like me. I could have submitted a 5 hour long epic flash with the most mindblowing story and animation and it would have still been mass-flagged by the guy.

Hmm...

Well, I know I never usually say this to sprite animators, but for the most part, you could actually do with zooming IN a little bit - I don't think you'll lose much quality and the characters will be just that little bit larger. Maybe I've just got used to watching flash movies where the sprites are too large, so I ignore the quality issues that accompany them.

A good teaser here, that makes me think of what might be when (if) you release the second part of this series. I'm sure that you've got some points of plot together, juding by the snippets you've shown us at the moment :)

I would suggest that you don't waste your time on trailers and that you donate all of your resoirces to the main project - this could be something that will get you more praise and recognition.

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
