Awesome group of shorts

Well, this is amazing. If your bytesized submission is anything like this, you'll certainly be up there with the winners.

I think you've certainly put some effort into developing each and every one of these, with a lovely set up and a great punch line delivery on each.

I wouldn't mind seeing you making some of these slightly longer - similar animation, maybe even the same characters, but give them more of a life.

BritishMoose responds:

Hummn. I'm not particularly sure how to infuse more life into the characters without adopting a different animation style...I'll see what happens next time I guess.

The sequel has (again) only five sketches, but most of them are longer - this should satisfy your need for length :)

Thanks for the review!

Good work

I've never really been a fan of these linerider movies, as they look to easy to pull off. You however have added a few extras, which have set this apart from the original lineriders

The animation of the rider himself gives this the edge that the earlier versions are lacking.

Although the physics of this are completely shot to hell in some parts, you've made up for that with some of the stunts which he performs. I think that you could improve the lines, as they looked too chunky, but other than those two points, you've done a great job.

king-ben responds:

ive said b4 that i dont think flash was made to be realistic, if it was realistic it holds me back alot more, i dunno why i did the lines like that, probly just bein stupid lol but the lines in the next one are thinner and drawn with the pencil, and thankyou!

The Never Ending Story (By Graham)

So this is what happens to the promiscuous little dick-weed, known as Graham. I wonder what will happen to him next.

Thanks for submitting a flash on my birthday, Bahamut <3

Other than that, you're still making an effort with your graphics and the pictures of the Earth and Moon (while not to scale) didn't look so rough around the edges, when you'd cut them out this time.

What sort of timescale are you working on for submitting the next part?

kinggila responds:

I'll just work, finish and submit my next flash whenever it's done.

Happy birthday Coop83! :D

Great concept

This is a pretty awesome advert for the NG Audio Portal. The graphics encorporate the latest NG imagery. The music was a decent piece, well sourced from the Audio Portal, no doubt.

I like this piece and think that you've certainly got good skills and that you should take them further - do you have any projects in the pipeline?

chillyphilly responds:

Thanks for the review...
I currently have many projects that im working on at the moment. A game, a few animtions, a website, projects for school and for work.
So I am incredibly busy, hopefully i will finish them in the near future.

A little fast

This is a well done flash, though I think there are certainly areas where you can improve.

Yes, you could add subtitles - a small balck bar across the bottom of the screen and a regular white font doesn't take much, trust me.

Other than that, maybe you could slow the pace of the speech down, so that we can comprehend what is actually being said.

Still, you've done a great job on the graphics, so please take my comments on board and make the next installment in the series better for it.

IZSBHR responds:

Thanks :)

- Subtitles... hmm...
- The speech is to fast?
- Thanks again :)

A good start here

This is a neat animation, although I'd prefer to see some animation on the mouths a little more.

The first close up of the kid is a little freaky, but thankfully doesn't set the tone for the animation. He needs to change the shape of his mouth more, as when we make sound effects, we don't leave our mouths completely still like his was.

You've got the basic drawing off to a great start and in the future, you can certainly learn more advanced techniques.

I'll look forward to reviewing your later improved submissions...

Could be so much more

This was working its way to being a great animation, then you cut it off in its prime!

Still, let's look at some positives here - the animation is good. I quite like the walking animation for the guy, it makes him look like he's skipping. I also like the drawing style of the thing sitting on the doorstep.

The sound is good quality and suits the piece well.

What you really need is to take this further, give it more of a plot and not bail out and call the animation finished too soon.

I look forward to seeing the results

Well done collab

This was nicely put together - the menu / preloader was nice , complete with little bios for all of you (Though I would like to see more detail on that part, rather than just gender and age)

Still, the music fit the pieces quite well and the whole thing came together like you've really refined it. 30 hours each to put your pieces together? or 30 hours total?

Can we expect to see more 30 challenges in future, or will you do something else?

yodd responds:

It was 30 hours to complete, hence why bios/credits were half assed. Will you see more? Who knows?

Interesting short

Due to the fact that this is only about 20 second long, it's not as good as your Blockhead flash. However, this is the sort of off the wall sort of thing I've come to expect from you over the past few months of viewing your work.

As always, the artwork is top knotch, the sound quality was good and the style / concept was quite amazing.

Where do you get your ideas from?

[Review Request Club]

The-Swain responds:

I certainly don't try to sell it as a Blockhead cartoon, that's for certain. In fact, this is my first non-Blockhead submission to NG. But it's been so long since I submitted anything due to the aforementioned reasons that I had try to offer at least -something-.

As for the idea, it came from the same place as most of my ideas: talking to myself. I was driving home from an arduous day of study and research, when I began speaking to myself as a Tarbash'esque Mohinder whilst sitting in traffic. It kind of went from there.

The sad thing is that if this cartoon had been longer than thirty seconds, I might not have ever bothered making it.

Also, thanks for the review! I was really uncertain of the response a toon like this would recieve :D Blockhead isn't all I know, but it's clearly all I've submitted.

Better than Tom's!

Well, that was certainly the best April Fool's joke I've seen this year. It's only a shame I caught it on April 4th :(

Still, it nearly gave me a heart attack, as I was suddenly thinking that the number of responses I'd get would stagnate, since you're one of my principal contributors. (A Birthday mention for April 7th wouldn't go amiss :P)

Still, good stuff and I'll look forward to your next submission with renewed enthusiasm

[Review Request Club]

kinggila responds:

It was certainly better than Tom's. It was obvious there'd be a joke to do with the redesign. Ah, it'll be your birthday in a few days time. I wish I knew sooner since I might've thought of a good idea a week or two ago. I'll try and submit a flash on Saturday anyway.

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
