Short, sweet and sick

All at the same time, which is quite impressive. I'm not really a fan of the music, as it sounds like it goes out of tune every now and again.

I think you've put quite a bit of effort into the drawing of Jay and then slightly less into drawing things like the dog. For me, it showed, as it didn't seem so smooth, but why would it if you were just going to kill it off a few frames later.

I'd personally like to see it being a little longer, as you coudl make it up to about half a minute longer and still get away with calling it a short. Maybe Jay stops when he sees the dog, then tries to call it over. When it doesn't come, he leaps on it and makes it into dinner. Maybe a few little sound effects, to make the music a little secondary, like a slash of the knife, a thud as he lands on the floor etc.

Little touches that make all the difference, but it's worth having a think about.

Good advice here. I'll remember it.

This explains a lot

Well, now that we've cut through all of the bullshit, much like Cheney cuts through that mother's body, just to gain entrance into the scene, we can really see what happens in American government.

I personally love the jokes, as they are a pretty accurate satire of modern America, even though I'm about 80-85% sure that Dick Cheney doesn't have bat wings or sleeps in the rafters at night.

I'm not that sure about the whole killing the kid because he knows too much, but well, it finished the flash of nicely. Well animated, beautifully scripted and about the only fault I could find was the size of the black outline around DC's lower jaw.

How about a take on George W. Bush's first meeting with Prime Minister Gordon Brown?

Great job!

Now even though you warned us about the lack of plot development, thisstill works really well. The one problems I see that you seem to have with the whole this is that it's a little on the short side (that's only minor, I'm not that fussed today) and that you didn't spell "which" correctly in your warning (I am not responsible as well, not I is not)

The movement of the whole thing flowed really well, especially the fight scene, which was a great triumph. If you want to take this further (and I seriously suggest you do), you may wish to browse the NG fgorums to try and find some inspiration for continuing this or making a fresh start.

Give it some thought, you're very talented.

Talented you say? Wow, nice way too close a review :D
Well, thanks I guess ^_^

Anyway, yes, it could be longer, and yes I make loads of spelling mistakes etc. I am completly aware of the things I should look out for, and everytime I pay attention some more, so don't worry, it'll all be okay.
And yes, short, the animation idn't really went towards a real plot, so I stopped before it really got ugly, and repetetive.
Anyway, I will take this further, but not in the near future. This is really my style, and it's something I will always have inspiration for, so it won't stop here, but I'm still experimenting qua animating.
I haven't found my real "big" flash yet, wich makes a groundbraking point in my animating life.
(I'm going to deep in this, aren't I ?)

Anyway, thanks for the review! Really helps me alot!

A few adjustments would be great, but...

Firstly, I'll say that this flash looks a great work in its own right. Well deserving of the front page and addition to the collection. Congratulations on that.

As with any music video, I'd get a space throughout the movie (usually underneath the picture frame) to write subtitles in. I say this for all music videos, so you're not alone in this.

A little more google searching for the images of the long list of product names would have been nice, so you could give pictures for each piece of kit. Not a major problem though.

I'm not too sure about the chorus line, with all the words flying around the area. Maybe it would be an idea to show him travelling to the store by any means possible - car, foot, bike, hovercraft etc. A few different routes would be fun as well... I'm just throwing a few ideas around for you here.

Still, I liked the movie and I'd like to see you try other Wierd Al songs.

A themed twist

What a nice twist on the series of Green Wing. A nice lampooning from Phoenix Wrong. I like it.

The sprites have been used well, and even when they fall, which isn't quite the way they should be, it does seem to look borderline normal.

I think you've done a good job on probably one of the funniest things to come out of UK comedic schools over the past decade.

Can we see any more?

certainly a different twist

Ok, so I was about to close the window for this and write some garbage about how you've done the same thing as any of the Sunshine Day flash which have preceeded this. However, you've actually given us a (poor, but passable) plotline...

So you put in a few things that I've not seen before - the crab walking off shot, the stereo playing, but I couldn't move the Sun. Now I understand why - plot!

It was a short movie, so I'm not going to ramble about too much, but the ending was predictably lame and I think you could have gotten away with at least a couple of minutes of "filler crap", which doesn't mean more of that annoying song.

OMG Random!

Wow, this was probably the most random piece of animation I've ever seen on Newgrounds! And that's saying a lot.

I've watched a lot of this flash and taken a lot on board, but it's delivered in such a way that it kind of leaves me spaced after a while. Possibly me, possibly the flash, I can't say for sure.

With some of these animations, I can't tell if you're doing it to take the piss out of other authors laughable styles of animation, or if you're just doing it to be completely random. Personally, if you're doing it to take the piss, I'd suggest you don't as it's really not fair on them.

Still, some of the pieces, which I view to be your more advanced works need developing further, maybe making them into stand alone cartoons. That would certainly be interesting to see.

I think...

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
