Maybe these past few years, but when I became the 10th NG BBS mod back in October 2003, I received no heads up.
Now, back in those days, I used NG BBS every single day, so I found out fairly quickly, but I'm sure there were some normal users who had noticed my name in the "mod list" at the bottom of the forum page before I got online... plus, I was modded by liljim, not Wade, and due to him being in the UK, he prolly modded me while I was asleep, and thus it took at least a few hours for me to notice, further increasing the number of users who noticed before I did. #;-}>
