More detailed...

...Than your other Clock Day entry, I'll grant you. This one was too damned short, but it did have some endearing points:

The characters were detailed nicely - not over the top, like some artists this year and at least you have made an effort. The pitch of Speakonia was changed, so that each clock who spoke had a 'different' voice. Both of these are definate boons for your piece.

I know you've got creative talent, so start now with your 2008 piece! Put some effort in and come back to us next year with something based around that awesome camera pitch that you had. Maybe with a plot, we'll be onto something worthy of note in the collection!

yeah, I really should have put more time and plot into a movie next time. I just don't like Flash that much!

Random Clock Day Madness

Well, as usual, it's a poor flash that gets voted up to about 4 by the masses. Still, I'm not here to criticise that (much)

The drawings of the Clocks for me weren't detailed enough, as they were so small. Make them a little bigger and zoom in when you draw to get more control of your drawing implements.

What I'd also suggest is that you don't just use one speakonia voice - use one for the narrator, then one also for each character, so you get more of a feeling of the story, rather than a rushed children's tale, as this came across.

See you next Clock Day

watch clocks adventure of love. That's why I made this

Sweet Jesus!

I'm so glad this is never coming to a browser near me! That' is one sick idea.

Aside from the obviously repulsive connotations of the subject material, I'll try to sum up the better points:

You did draw the crabs and the lice quite well - not sure why you made the lice look like centaurs, but it's not really important. I'd still reccomend zooming in, to make the drawing more detailed... also, but a tablet, it'll make things much better in the long run. I think you should have spent less time with the gratuitous picture of some guy wanking as well - perhaps make him just a topless guy, looking down his shorts or something...

Bluemidgetguy responds:

The concept just kind of came to me. I laughed for about a month straight. This was one of my first so it's obviously not great. Concept is better than the art and animation.

Are you gay? All my flash movies you review you have to complain about the cocks - I think you have homophobic issues and you may be gay. You could easily say I'm gay and you're half right - but being so up tight, I bet you complain because when you see the cock, you get a boner and it makes you angry inside that your leading towards the male.

lol.

More Clock Madness

Will this never stop? For the moment, yes, but we've always got another Clock Day come next year, I suppose.

At the offset, it looks like a really good flash, the way you focused in on Clock Day 07. Unfortunately, then it went rapidly downhill. The clock pictures look out of focus, poorly cut out and in the instance of the ninja-assassin thingy, poorly drawn. At least Speakonia worked well :P

Not too sure why you used Blue Moon as your chase music, but well, who am I to argue with an artist?

Frenzy responds:

Lol, I wanted to use the Benny Hill Theme, but it took up to much file space, and I didn't want the filesize to be too big. Happy Clock Day!

Useful Tutorial

Not that I'm likely to be using a flash tutorial like this, as that's me, but this is certainly something that would prove useful for people who want to make sprite movies. I've never used flash before, but I understood what you were getting at with the whole tutorial, so I think I could ahve followed it from start to finish and made a reasonable animation of a spritely nature.

Any other plans for tutorials? You've got a decent knack for it... except those Start/Stop buttons, which don't explain what they are. Perhaps some sort of Speaker or music logo to inform people what's what.

Dark-Heart responds:

Thanks for the review. Yes, I actually plan on submitting 3 more sprite tutorials.

Haha, good joke, Bahamut. You almost had me fooled for a few moments there. Then I woke up and realised that I'd gotten almost 500 points yesterday and that was Clock Day :P

Still, the newsreader is a different character that I'm not used to seeing in your flash. Please work on the mouth, as it's really starting to bug me. What can I say I'm a fussy bugger and somewhat of a perfectionist! The size changes, but it doesn't change shape for different words. I guarantee that you're flash will be more amazing with this little alteration

How about bigger heads?

Very Basic Loop

I'm not impressed with this submission at all. The music really is the only endearing part of the flash, while the loop looks like something that you spent very little time preparing.

I've come to expect more from you, as you have proven that you can animate, but this looks like very little time and effort was put in, as you are safe in the knowledge of a high score, due to Clock Day.

I'm not picking on you, I just feel that more effort would be called for.

Imacow responds:

Yea this was just a short clock day flash.

Thanks for the review.

Ah, the more traditional Clock Day Submission. I've watched a lot of flash (and voted on a whole heap more over these past 2 days) that I'm quite glad to see a well made flash like this shining through all of the crap.

I always smile when you use Speakonia, it's one of those wierd things that looks out of place, but is somehow right.

What's next for Bahamut (and his bruises?)?

kinggila responds:

I dunno which flash will be next, but the one after that will be my 50th flash. :D

I'm liking the way you showed us the different songs you've done for each clock day these past few years. I'm now wondering what sort of song you'll be giving us for next year.

So long as it's not Numa Numa, we'll be able to survive, I think!

[Review Request Club]

kinggila responds:

Numa Numa = Doesn't say the word spin = Won't be on any of these sort of flashes

Inspired by Greatness

Well, that's the best Tankmen 'parody' I've ever seen. Considering the amount of shite we've seen about that, you're the first one to make a decent use of the Tankmen animations and their mouths in particular since JohnnyUtah did in his own creation.

But enough name dropping, lets concentrate on this flash. I loved the lip-sync, it really worked. I like the drawing of Pico you used and the way you used the tankmen mouth outline to get his lip-sync as well.

There was one part, when Pico was walking along and you can still hear the lyrics, but not see any movement. Maybe a chance to fade in the Tankman's head to sing for a while? Just a thought.

I love the way that the feet twitch while the song is paused during Pico's walk as well. Nice little secret :P

Keep it up, will we be seeing any further music videos like this, or will you concentrate on something else?

ShortMonkey responds:

I'm glad you liked it! I'm working on a website at the moment but I may make more music videos when I get the time. Also, keep up your great reviews!

You know, I stopped shaving to think of something to write here. That worked out well.
